Of course, the parking attendand should have been able to check the permit that was on display in the wind shield (as per regulation, and this is an assumption of course) themselves if they bothered to leave their car.

Yeah we learned about this in interior decorating school. There’s a certain range of heights and depths of stairs that feel natural and comfortable, and when you choose those dimensions they have to stay consistent otherwise it’s a safety hazard

It could just be that the battery was in thermal runaway but it was the nearby plastics that auto ignited, which what was put out, if the clip went on a bit longer you may have then seen the battery ignite fully, it was certainly degassing rapidly.

1:03 When I was a kid the house across the street from mine burned down. The fire fighters were located just down the street, and they came and just stood outside and watched the entire time, no one got near the door. I don't remember them bringing out the hose either. The whole neighborhood and the firefighters basically stood in this giant circle around the house to watch it burn. The house was still burning when I went to bed. I heard later the owner's dog was inside, which obviously died. I remember seeing the owner sitting on the sidewalk in a chair someone had brought out for him with his head just in his hands. Really sad and just confusing to watch as a kid.

what most phones set on fire from, from what I assume, is their batteries malfunctioning. The lithium ion battery starts to malfunction, and creates gasses that combust, expanding in the protective shell. What she did, as far as I can guess, as I am no chemist, is A) release the pressurized gas so the reaction wouldn't escalate and B) smack it, so that the poisonous, volatile gasses spreads everywhere throughout, for everyone to inhale, and don't explode, while decreasing the amount of oxygen the reaction receives, all in one instant.

The first one reminds me of someone I worked with she was in her late 50s and she had a meltdown because a younger guy in his 20s was allowed to park closer to the building in the disabled spaces and she said "just look at him there is nothing wrong with him" she was making a scene about it with everyone watching and suddenly he handed her his prosthetic leg. The look on her face was priceless but she was angry that no one told her as if she should have been given the information not that she was at fault for making a fool out of herself and assuming that she should be able to see his disability because in her own words "he seems to walk fine so how should I have known".

For some people it is painful to move or walk. A person I knew was missing a leg and every time she pressed on it the nerves went live and made it miserable. Yet these people still have to go out and buy their food, clothes etc. That's why it's generally good to mind your business unless they clearly need additional help and ok it (like falling off a wheel chair, clearly struggling, etc).

Fun fact: If traditional steps (like what you see in a house, mall, even stadium) are off by just 1/4" then people will trip. We typically use muscle memory to walk up steps. There's a certain rise and distance we get used to, and if you aren't WATCHING where you step then you'll default to this. So even the slightest increase in rise could cause you to trip.

In the US you are NOT allowed to ask someone about their disability. You are required to display your Disabled placard if / when using a disabled parking spot. But someone can not ask you what your disability is. No one gets to decide if you're "disabled enough" to use the parking spot.

Imagine being a dog like this, you find your owner on the floor in the hallway. You lick his face, and get no response. You start barking, and get no response. Days pass by while you're slumped down in a corner, dehydrated and hungry. Finally, you hear loud banging on the door and let out a weak whimper. It's the police because the neighbours complained about a smell. Suddenly you find yourself in a shelter where some strangers are trying to feed you but you're not allowed to eat it, your owner isn't there anymore to kiss your head. You say EXTREMELY low chances, but everyone dies someday and this 'someday' happens to about 7 million companion pets every year. In the case of dogs, 60% ends up euthanised. A dog like this has very little chance to find another home, simply because there wouldn't be the time or resources to get a trained dog like this to eat. There are many more dogs that end up in dog shelters for whatever reason, lost, abandoned, or the owner is simply unfit to care for the animal at the time. This kind of training has no value other than looking "adorable," but what looks adorable to some may look cruel to others.

26 yr retired firefighter here... this video is a poor example of what it's like to fight a structure fire. 99% of the time you can't see your own hand in front of your face. This building has self ventilated itself likely burning the roof off before entrance was made.

And not to mention that originally ai that can talk are meant for conversational purposes and if not properly oriented they can louse up things even more so than a real human being. And more so, you put ai in charge of running report investigations online on certain platforms and whatever the handling can be worse because people can falsely accuse others of something absurd and the ai won’t bother with the difference.
