I'm a 74 year old white male and wondered how the black people of our country would react to this song. I've probably watched 20 rappers and DJ's and even a woman in Nigeria review this song. I am so pleased at their reviews. I saw no prejudice against him, a white man in the hills with a red beard singing his heart out. The lady in Nigeria was in tears. If all of us, old and young, white, black, brown, and yellow can relate to this, we are all brothers and sisters. Let's take this to heart. We are all one. It's the most powerful song I've heard in so long i can't remember. It's authentic, raw and heartfelt. I've never seen a song resonate with so many different people at a soul level. It's American folk music, out of the mountains in Appalachia. It proves that we have everything in common that matters. We're not divided like they want us to be Not too long ago he was struggling with alcohol and depression. Contemplating suicide. He fell to his knees and prayed to God to take them away and for him to go forward with his music. God answered his prayers. Maybe it's God's energy in his voice that's got the ability to penetrate the soul of anyone who hears it. A local radio station that scouts talent throughout Appalachia approached him and asked if they could record him at their expense. They posted it just days ago and the rest is history. It's the only song that's been professionally recorded. There's others that are so good too, in the top 10, but they were recorded on his iPhone and are on his personal channel. He has an introductory video that he posted the day before the song was posted. It tells a little of his story. He's so surprised at the reaction and outpouring of love. He played a farmers market Sunday and there was standing room only. 25 acres of parked cars. He said in June he played for 20 people. Lol. Before his performance he didn't plug him, his songs or his social media. He read a verse from psalms about how the wicked will not prevail. Everyone was singing along and knew all the words despite it being released only a few days prior. Its been a week. 16 million views on KZbin alone. He stayed 4 hours after talking to every person who wanted to talk with him and he listened to their stories. An inspirational young man with an inspirational story and an angelic voice that everybody feels. He quit his job as a factory worker to pursue his music. He bought land and lives on that with his dogs off grid. This song is recorded on his land in Virginia It's so refreshing to see young men connecting with this. Our high suicide of young men in our country is heartbreaking. He was there, contemplating it. He understands the challenges of being young man in today's society. You get it honey. And that makes my heart so happy.
