Oliver & Company contains several references to other Disney movies. During "Why Should I Worry?", we see Peg, Trusty and Jock from Lady & The Tramp and Pongo from 101 Dalmatians. What I love about this scene, is that shes aware she doesn't wake up perfect. It's work to look what is socially accepted as beautiful. I find gorgette pretty without all the work, but she a show dog. I remembered loving this scene as a kid. No idea why. Probably because of how sassy she is and i was having a difficult time accepting myself as a girl. I also didn't like having to put so much work into my appearance just to be labeled beautiful. No judgements on those who like makeup and stuff. The most ill put on me are skin care lotions or what-not. I don't identify as my assigned gender though. I'm a demiboy.
@yote333 Жыл бұрын
Same here. I absolutely clung to this scene as a kid and I had no clue why, I just put it up to the nice song. That was around the time I started having this idea of ‘what a woman should look like’ and what men want in a woman pushed onto me. Needless to say that isn’t good for a little girl, it really isn’t good for anyone - it messed me up for years and I lost my childhood to trying to conform to something unattainable. This song is still great and I really idolize her. Like you said, the sass. I love it. I find myself relating to her a little more every day the more I heal and reclaim my body and teach myself that I can still do my hair and makeup and like all those ‘girly’ things - and I can do it for nobody but myself. I’m reclaiming my femininity, in a way. I’m a demigirl. 🤍

In the Brazilian version her voice sounds younger and I (as a Brazilian) think it's somehow better, in the beginning "I must dress up, I must put on makeup, perfection exists...but it's me!" : I must get ready, I must put on makeup, perfection exists... but it's me! If the world watches me, I know it's my duty to make just a few touches NOT FOR VANITY BUT FOR HUMANITY. I have so much race, so much beauty and grace. It's too much even for me! In every competition I am always the best. If I'm walking, I'm already posing, I know I'm the biggest. I was born to shine, when will I parade? lari lala. I know I'm perfect nefah, I'm beautiful, I'm rare, I have no rival, yes, I'm only successful. and anyone who knows me forgets about lassie, """""'"'''' THAT'S WHY SOME JEALOUS PEOPLE COGIVE EVERYTHING THAT IS MINE! beautiful dogs of this city, grow up and learn this truth, there is no point in just kindness because perfection is me!
