Kahn didn't only have superhuman reflexes, he was also a very clever goalkeeper. Look how he stands right near the near post only leaving the far corner as an option for the attacking player only to completely read their next move and make an interception. A master of his craft.

You gotta watch his three penalty saves in the 2001 UCL final against Valencia. The second is easily a top 5 goalkeeper reaction of all time imo. Kahn during those days even had the stereo-typical fantasy look of a barbarian warrior-king or a sci-fi bandit lord common in pulp-comic books, PC games, series, and cartoons from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s, which I grew up on as a kid and teenager in the 90’s…. Kids nowadays just donno how good football used to be before and the talented players of yesteryears.. i won't be surprised if 10 years down the line kids start shouting mbappe or halland (playing just the way they are now without any improvement) will be called as goats just coz they didn't watch others. Now people would think that's impossible, but that's what's gonna happen soon.

When era CR and Messi ends football will take a huge hit. The new players like Mbappé aren't interesting anymore especially if you what Mbappé did for the money. He had the chance to lead another era but now there will be a huge gap and he missed becoming a legend.

@ADthehawk
@ADthehawk Жыл бұрын
TBH, he is better than Neuer. The latter is more prone to errors due to his sudden urges of dribbling the forwards. 2002 was Kahn's WC. No matter how Ronaldo scored 8 (I think). He made just one "mistake" in the whole tournament. Neuer couldn't dominate like that in 2014. Easily one of the greatest and surely the greatest from Germany. But I admit it is quite close between the two.
