No matter who Oliver dances with my eye is always drawn to him. Yes there are flasher and some more gymnastic leads. But he is class in all aspects of musicality and technique. It really helps that he has great partners to dance with. Any social salsa dancer knows this. I still think he is one of the best world salsa masters we have. Respect , JP Ludlow Salsa UK.

I love this video so much. I think I've already commented on it, but I am compelled to say it again- BEST all around social dance video clip EVER, hands down!!! Two world champs throwing down and having FUN! Such superb dancing, but most importantly, the CONNECTION they had with each other and the music, and the story that that told us. So inspiring. That is what dance is all about.

@@sharo8338 Agree. They probably didn't choreograph the whole thing but it's hard to imagine they didn't danced before and had an idea of some of the things they would do during this one. This seems like more of a performance than just two people meeting for first time on the dance floor. I still think it's amazing though!! Wow, what great talent!!

@@rbaddict2947 You can tell they both know the song for sure, which added a great deal to their musicality. But the music was live, with plenty of improvisation from the musicians and not being played exactly as the recording was made. They broke into shines at least 3 or 4 times. She even hi-jacked his lead and led him into cross swivels! Lol...and he took the challenge and dropped a split like it was hot LOL!. There's no way it was choreographed, that was pure spontaneity. I'm sure have danced together socially before (probably at competition afterparties and Congresses) but I doubt they practiced any of that beforehand. Even in a "Jack & Jill" situation, world-class performers can do world-class things. I mean, they danced like 10 minutes straight and Pa' Curubande was being played WAY over tempo. You have to be a world-class dance athlete to do that without running out of gas or falling off tempo. Nothing he was leading was difficult to follow, even the lift, not for a dancer of Alien's caliber. He knows what she's capable of and made sure everyone watching would get to see it. He's freakin' ridiculous and she is pura candela. It IS improvisation at its best.

+Marcos Olivero Because they know how to enjoy a dance and don't try to "improvise" very difficult elements in social dance, like I've seen in many salsa clubs. There is a difference between coreography, show and social. Sometimes these ambitions to try very difficult combos when you dance with a partner for the first time is very annoying for both partners.

So refreshing to see after watching about 5 FM videos in a row of painful social dancing from one of the top in the NY scene. What happened to those dancers that get where the dance grew from, that intimate exchange on the social dance floor. What a rare and great thing to be witness to performers that can lead, follow and improvise on a social dance floor and love doing it. Bravo!

Bueno, yo respondía tu comentario de que "no importa si es casino o no". A mi me importa y es mi enfoque. Yo recuerdo que mi comentario dice que "se llega a un grado de madurez bailando, naturalmente hay una llegada al Casino" por sus características de organicidad y fluidez y por su perfección. El baile de casino por ser un baile ejecutado fuera del comercio, en el caso de Cuba, sufrió un proceso de optimizacion profundo que lo convirtió en un baile extremo y al final todos se dirigen a el!.

Tu "crees" lo que quieras en dependencia de tu nivel de conocimiento y de información. La música salsa no existe porque no es un genero musical con célula rítmica propia, es música cubana así sea tocada por un esquimal. Si existen diez millones de bailadores existirá la misma cantidad de estilos personales. Ahora cuando se llega a una madurez siempre se optimizan los movimientos y por lo general esa optimizaron ya esta hecha y se llama Baile de Casino. Porque es la tendencia natural. Saludos!

La respuesta a esta pregunta va a depender de cuánto conocimiento tengás en música y baile. Si sos de los que piensa que bailar salsa es solamente como lo has visto en tu pueblo entonces seguirás sin entender lo que están haciendo, pero si la pregunta es para tener conocimiento entonces te invito a que leas o mirés videos de los orígenes de la Salsa.
