Well from what I remember when that happened (SA allegations) immediately she was put on blast and the internet was littered with videos of people throwing away all her music and merch. It was not cool to support her and I don’t know when the tables suddenly changed but during the allegations that’s all I saw on KZbin and other social media. Also even her friends didn’t support her on twitter. So no a lot of people immediately supported her. A very small amount did when it happened.

People forget that celebrities are people too, and either become so devastated when they break up that they generate this energy of 'they should have stayed together for ME' or they decide that one or both parties are suddenly the worst.
