In trading reality a simple or a exponential moving average are really the same. A exponential average "claims" to be smoother but does not really hold any so called edge. What matters most in a moving average is the period setting where the 200 DMA is the last line of defense in a up trending market for the bulls.

Video Summary: The mighty 200 MA is the most powerful MA: It becomes self fulfilling prophecy. 20 period MA is support when rising and resistance when declining. The 200 MA is KING when Flat. Its power is in its flatness: Support when stock is above the flat. It is concerete support. We use it is resistance when stock is below 200 flat and rising above will be STOPPED. Serves as overhead ceiling. Provides the magnet effect: Overhead ceiling when PA will crash through, ( when there is a green bar near 200) Stocks cant get too far without snapping back to retest 200. It will serve as support when flat. Stop loss under the bar that we bought. The bar we buy at is the reason we bought. When it cant break the ceiling, it will drop down to the 20 MA. 20 MA is now capturing all the falls from the ceiling aka Upper 200 MA! Trading every moment is not the key, it is waiting for the right moment: 2 buy rules: Buy green bar reversals (GBR) or bottoming tails (BT) at or near rising 20 period MA Buy GBR or BT at or near FLAT 200 MA. Shorting Sell: Sell Short after Red bar formation (RBF) and/or topping tails (TT) at or near declining 20 MA Sell RBF or TT at or near flat overhead 200 MA Best works on TF: weekly/daily for Swing trades. I have tried this many many times however its worth noting trading spreads / commissions often won't cover a pile of green bars so trading a 2 or 5 mins is nigh on impossible. Depends on your broker charges of course. Try and see what time frame works best for you

ryan ferguson TradingView allows you to do both

If you are using a 5-minute chart, you are using the 5-minute time frame. If you are using the 1-day chart (aka daily), you are using the 1-day time frame. What you're saying is like saying something is colored all black or all blue at the same time. It can only be one or the other at one time, not both.

I would suggest it. If you want to be safe let the initial green form and the a confirmation green bar. A wise man once said you don't have to get %100 of a move. He taught that you want the %80 of the move. I'd say a safe and confirmed move capturing %80 of the move is better than entering on a green bar that hasn't confirmed the move and then it reverses and stops you out (loss).

When I saw this video 1 1/2 year ago, it didn't register with me at first. Since then, I've gain much more experience and now I understand how price action and moving averages work together. Now looking at this video, IT ALL MAKES SENSE and my trading has improved tremendously! I use 200, 800 & 3,000 emas as support/resistant or what some call "Brick walls". I trade bounces from those walls but my main squeezes are the 20 & 50emas on 30min. timeframe and higher!
