Should forward a copy of this to the AGCO management, seeing how they swear up and down that AGCO does not stand for Allis Gleaner Company

Interesting to hear the whole loyalty thing being preached about dealers. When most of those machines did not stick around but a few years . I always thought that Agco could have made a decent tractor between the Original Allis and the White line and then just filled in with deutz for under 120 horse. And even kept the big 4w allis tractors with Cummins or Cat power as a nice part of the line. A good friend was a dealer and kept Allis line up until the phase out of the Orange Agcos . He went to New Holland and Kept the Gleaner line til Agco got pissed and took it then he just signed on with Case . Ran Gleaner out of the area since he was about 30 minutes from East Moline. in his 1st year he traded 40 gleaners into Axial Flows

I growed up during this time. I was around the M,M2, L3,R40,50,R60,R52,R62, and R72 Gleaner combines of this time. We use to run two different AC 7000 tractors, a Deutz Allis 6250fwa, and a 9150FWA tractor. Good times

Deutz dropping the 8000 series line, painting the 9000 series Green when they first came out, and dropping the conventional Gleaner combines at least four years early really hurt them. I know several guys who loved the conventional combines but wanted nothing to do with the rotary combines especially after the N series. Our local dealer painted several 9000 series green tractors orange because some customers would not buy the green colored tractors. We demoed a green 9190 Deutz Allis that had been painted orange by the dealer. I really liked the 6250 we had but I think they just pushed the German design/body style a little to quickly on American customers. We never had any issues with the Deutz engines in combines but a lot of guys where glad when the Cummins came out as an option.

The Deutz Allis KHD tractors are the best. We currently use two Deutz Allis 7120 tractors and a Deutz Allis 6150 as well as a Gleaner R40 with the Deutz air cooled engine. I am getting ready to close the deal on a green 9150 soon.

Interesting video, I never cared for the American/European mergers, European met the needs of the European farmer, farmers here in my area tried these half breeds, and you see them in the fence rows. You still see the 60s 70s and 80s tractors working the fields.

The truth is Deutz deemed the Allis tractor line inadequate and killed it since all they were after was a national North American dealer network. Realized after the fact they didn’t have a in house built tractor that met the requirements of the domestic market. So when they finally decided they needed to do something about it Deutz decided rather than doing anything with the Allis line they already owned it just made more sense to buy White rear ends and cabs to mate with Deutz engines, and thus the 9100 series was born. That’s the truth and the only ones butt hurt by it are the Allis guys that can’t get over the fact that AC ceased to exist in 1985 by their own doing. Doesn’t bother me at all. The original comment was just pointless and stupid. If you want to see orange go somewhere else where you can see orange. Don’t sit here and bitch about it.

How do you figure any of that is made up? Maybe you need to get a little education and go read the feature article in heritage iron issue 85 about the development of the 9100 series and what led up to it.

At least the agco white was still a white, Deutz allis had nothing in common with Allis Chalmers. The 8000 sereis allis chalmers was a good modern tractor, just needed a more durable motor in the bigger models, but nobody who ran Chalmers wanted anything to do with an ugly azz European puke green Deutz😆 They should of built off the 8000 sereis instead of abandoning it. If I sit in an 8000 sereis and then a 7800 deere you can see a lot of similarities
@Oliver66FarmBoy

Was piss poor market research on Deutz part. Made so sense to kill the line since they had no high horsepower row crop tractors of their own to meet US market demands.

Deutz should have kept the 8000 series AC line. The biggest Deutz made at the time that was not a rebaged 8000 was a 7145 Deutz Allis which was around 145hp. We had a 7145 at the farm I worked at during my high school years. They where very crude in the cab compared to any other brand at the time. We bought an allis orange 9150 when they came out with the 9000 series and also demoed a 9190 Deutz Allis for a bit. I guess I am the odd ball but I loved the looks of that design. They where pretty good machines and had the White rear end. We had a good Deutz Allis dealer in our area and he sold a lot of tractors and combines. In this area at that time Deutz Allis had a good market share around here. When the dealer decided to get out of the AGCO business and sale used combines things quickly turned back to Case IH red and John Deere Green. White was not big in our area at the time due to lack of dealers.
