That’s what I like man thank you, show stuff on public water that is what we are going to be fishing. I don’t like the videos that are filmed on private lakes where they catch a fish every cast to sell a new bait. Thank you for keeping it real

I like when you say “don’t take everything you hear online as the truth.” And that’s the truth. In my experience fishing has always been about experience and time on the water. Experimentation and documentation 👌🏼

I want to apologize to all the anglers out there looking for Gancraft Mago 003 reels. I loaded up on every single NIB one I could possibly find after seeing how it handled our Ontario Essox strains, and still works flawless after so much damn abuse. SLP Works is the fkn juice straight up. Oliver, you're the real deal brother. If you're ever up around Southern Ontario region, hollar for some big Ol' Ontario Muskie hunting. Cheers.

Oliver,I Slide 262 is the salt water version heavier or should a say can I fish it deeper,one of my goals for 2023 is focusing on (Glide baits in 15 foot and deeper if possible)how can I achieve that and what you recommend or could you do I video on it because I’m DEFINITELY want to do this. 16:06 thank you 🙏
@BigBassDreams2 жыл бұрын
We don't believe there is a saltwater version of the 262t. Just the 185. It does indeed sink faster than the freshwater models. One way to get that 262t deeper is to fish it on Defiant 35lb Soft Casting Fluorocarbon to draw the bait deeper over the course of a long cast and work the bait slower and more methodically to allow the bait to work that 15+ ft Zone. Weight strips could help as well.

I know this reel is not related to the video but I have a question. I’ve had several daiwa tatula 300s and 3 of them over the past 4 yrs have failed me. What’s your thoughts with long term use on that reel? And what’s your thoughts long term on the revo beast 40-hs if you’ve used it long term?

I love throwing that baitsanity antidote, it's cool to see you working with those guys. I throw a lot of 6-7 inch swimbaits a couple 8 inch and I'd like to give that explorer a try next year which is probably as big as I'd go here in the northeast. I currently throw everything on my Dobyns Fury 795 swimbait rod since its the only one I have, it seems to do pretty good at driving a single jig hook on 6" hudds and also bends deep enough into the blank for that antidote or bbz treble hook baits but I have nothing to compare it to. I'm looking to add a new rod to the arsenal this year, probably an 8 footer for those slightly bigger glides and rats, I love throwing rats. Any recommendations? I was thinking something fairly parabolic since I can always throw a single hook on my flipping stick if need be.

Take a look at the Douglas LRS C805F!
@troycote45032 жыл бұрын
I live in Massachusetts, have a 795 and an 806. The 806 is only good for maybe 5.5 ounces, the 795 maybe 3.5. I need a stiffer rod for 8 inch Hudds. I throw a lot more Wakebaits than glides, and those two rods are pretty good for almost all my hard baits.

I'm amazed at how heavy of line you are using, do you ever notice a difference between them hesitating to commit wit larger line? I've always stuck to 17-25 mono or flouro for most of my bait and still get lack of commitment
@OliverNgy2 жыл бұрын
It's not your line. It's your presentation. If we are doing our job in presenting the lure the line diameter is of no consequence especially with 100% high quality Fluorocarbon. It's supposed to be invisible right? So what does it matter what diameter your invisible line is? It shouldn't.
@ulysses_gonzalez88402 жыл бұрын

Doesn’t a larger line diameter, even in FC, cause a slower sink rate? How much difference between say 15lb and 25lb?

I started a few yrs ago with 6" magdrafts, ISlide 135 & couple savage gear baits. Then I bumped up to 8-10baits. I want a new good 8-10 glide bait, any recommendations? I've mostly fished soft baits past few yrs. I'm a kayak angler & I've found shorter rods usually make it easier when it comes to netting the fish. I always net everything so I have muscle memory for when i have a true giant on I net them without thinking about it! I've have baits come out right next to me & if I wasn't using a net I would have lost them! My main swimbait rod is 7'9" diawa 1-6oz. It's a mod-fast so it fishes both soft & hard baits fairly well. I use a 7' med-heavy for 6" magdrafts. It's landed me countess fish from small up to 9lbs.
