What happens in the audition room? - you go in and black out. Hahahaha I feel that. I even got anxious when Carrie got told to sit in front of the audition room😂😂😂

Auditions in the UK are SO DIFFERENT from auditions in the US! We have a few different types of auditions: open calls, Equity Chorus Calls, Equity Principal Auditions, and Appointments. I don’t have an agent so I’m able to go to auditions for Broadway and national tours and find all of the information on my own. I can also get audition appointments without an agent - you submit for it online and the casting director gives appointments. I’ve made a bunch of videos about the audition process in NYC on my channel, if you wanted to know more or see it in action!

I totally understand the always being late! I do dance and with one govening body that I compeat with has always always run late, like all the events are later than our schedule says to the point once our prize giving was supposed to start at 3:30 didn't start till 5, and ended at 9:15

I think this is the most consistent channel I follow. I live on West Coast of the US and my sleep schedule is a mess. And every day at exactly 2 a.m. I get the notification that another Good Morning vid has been uploaded. That’s also how I know I need to turn in and go to bed. Just wanted to say thanks for being the little bit of consistency in my day to day during all this mess that is the world.

I went to the Oxford Lyra audition and it rained so much and we queued for 4 hours then were in the room for 2 minutes 😂 it was a good experience of what to expect for open auditions - haven't done one since!

I went to an open audition for Disneyland Paris twice and that was such a positive experience. But after I'd left I was waiting for my dad to meet me and saw the casting director smoking outside. I went over and asked if there was anything I could do to get cast the next time. I was wearing a closed coat and he named me by top colour and pattern and said I'm just too big. That was the slimmest I've ever been and that made the decision I would never go back. But I knew because of that 🤷🏼♀️

Okay but the "don't pluck your eyebrows if you don't have pluckers" is great advice. When I was like 12 I tried to do it with nail clippers and I ended up with a line through my brow. It was a rough time.

This is so interesting! I'm not an actor, but I find the process fascinating to learn about. I have a question about the readers you mentioned in auditions. Do they usually read their part of a script in an emotionless way, or do they try and act the part a bit? The former is more what I'm envisioning from little video clips I've seen in the past, but to me (again, not an actor), it seems like it'd be harder to act opposite a toneless reading than one in which they're giving you something to work with! Any insight you (or others) could share? xx

Love these videos! I know you've spoken a lot about the paths you both took to get into performing in musical theatre. I'd love to hear more about how you could progress your careers in other areas of the theatre, e.g casting, directing, choreographer, etc. - totally understand this might not be your expertise though. 💕

Yep I went to them too, then they asked a couple of girls questions and one girl described a daemon as a pet. Then they picked out a few and the rest of us got given haribo and left. 11 year old me wasn't impressed 😂

I'm getting confused with the timings of these videos. I thought they were filmed the day before being posted? Yet, the question in the email is a response to last night's video, so are these videos now filmed on the day they're posted? So this was filmed today? I'm really confused 🤔🤯
@katiemunro18874 жыл бұрын
normally they are filmed the day before and edited during that day if that makes sense

Is it the same process for “celebrities “? I’ve suffered ex-reality TV people, former pop stars and soap stars who have weak voices, so so acting and negligible dance skills. These were leads in big musicals (that Jonas dude in the big Les Mis anniversary for example). Are these guy short-cut to capitalise on their “fame”????
