Seeing those bookshelves in the end observatory gave me the idea for some type of purple planks that could be found in the end. And maybe it doesn’t come from a tree but some type of “ender root” or thick parts of the chorus tree. We’d get a new color of planks, more floral variety, it could flush out structures, and provide a medium for environmental story telling. Loved the video!

Since you mention isolation, I’m imagining an ender grassland as a biome. It has very rare trees, if at all. And also some sort of big, elephant sized mob

Honestly, The best Interpretation of the End I can think of is Minecraft dungeons As the End being this sort of Corruptive Alien barrens with unnatural fauna, rigged landscapes and A ruined empire sort of feel filled with non-native corrupted Creatures serving the bidding of Some taller and more ethereal Enderman *_And this idea I have might be even weirder but, it's for some reason it's inspired by steven universe_* *_Mainly with the "Kindergarten"_* *Maybe have something like that but for end (And maybe that it spawns in the overworld too) since it give more implications of the enderman, Are they truly living creatures, If they're creatures that are MADE who were they made for? Who do they serve? are they colonizers?* *_Maybe it could be that the Enderman are a race of terraformers that Colonized the End to the point of extinction, Making it into the now Shattered planet we know_* *_And maybe the reason that they're making these "Enderling production farms" (Or basically corrupting parts of the overworld and it's mobs like how the endersent do in dungeons) Is that they're trying to colonize the Overworld and take its resources In a desperate attempt to terraform and revive the life in the End_* *_Which would give into the fauna of the End looking like corrupted/warped versions of overworld fauna_*

If I where to revamp the end dimension I wouldnt make it 'hostile'. I feel like thats what the nether is supposed to be, I kinda like how the end seems more indifferent to the player, like enderman for example dont attack you straight away, you have to agro them. And we dont really understand why looking at them bothers them but it does. Thats why I kinda dont like shulkers that much but you are also breaking into their house so I guess thats fine. But I think it would be cool if the new mobs in the end would have specific agro conditions, like new animals you don't really understand yet and dont think the same way we do. EDIT: WHAT DO YOU MEAN UR FRIEND QUINN? so casually

I think an end update might be on its way, because after the nether update released, we wanted a cave update. And, due to circumstances, that update had to be split into, effectively four updates. After the cave update, we wanted an end update. But, Mojang wanted to do something special for Minecraft’s 15th birthday: a way to challenge new and old players alike. Now that that’s out, there’s really only a few highly anticipated updates: end update, inventory management update (possibly including bundles if they figure those out on mobile anytime soon), a farming update, and/or the second combat update (which is unlikely as the combat snapshots are still in phase one)

You talk about a desert-y biome and I agree, but I think what could be an amazing idea for an End Desert is the "Voidlands". A place where all there is, is something that looks like something was there once upon a time but has been long-gone by now.

I once suggested something about the end on the r/minecraftsuggestions subreddit, and I ended up coming up with a saying that I think kind of encapsulates what I feel about the end: The End is empty, but that doesn't mean it has to feel dead. The End needs more life, but like, some REALLY out-there stuff. They shouldn't add like 2 things; they should do a Nether-Update style overhaul to the end. At least 4 new biomes, at least 3 new mobs, at least 5 new block types for those areas. It doesn't have to be a lot, it just has to be GOOD. Mojang has been slacking off lately. They're so afraid to "ruin" their E10+ image that they won't do anything different or inventive, when that's what's made Minecraft work all these years.

The End as seen in Minecraft Dungeons would be spectacular for vanilla Minecraft! It would really make the dimension feel lived in.

I don't think they've been worrying about their image. There's a seed of thought in the back of my mind that says they used these recent updates to stall the end update. Think about it - they've been delivering what we wanted at around 1.17, but these smaller updates have waaaaaay less features, probably so that they can have lots of time to make an absolutely enormous overhaul on the end. I think it's coming in 1.22. More than ever.

the only update i'm interested in is an update where inventory management doesn't end up being half of the game. i shouldn't have to chronically be throwing bullcrap out of my inventory every 3 minutes and spending 5 minutes organizing the crap i do want every time i am about to go do something. at the very least give me an option to never pick up certain items or put a limit on how many wind up in the inventory. i've never even reached the end because i can't deal with the tedium of chronic inventory management, and the fact that they've added soooo many new blocks makes it that much worse

Yea theyre going to really have to get the lead out on releasing those bundles. Though, deep down - I know the bundles are only kind of a bandaid for the inventory issue. I honestly don't think it would hurt to give us a backpack/wearable chest option. Even that bit of space would help tremendously!

I have an idea for a mob that could be good for the End. And what I suggest is a mob that can stalk the player from a distance. Not like the Enderman would in Minecraft. I suggest a mob that stalks you and make you paranoid well the mob makes creepy noises. So imagine this, your wondering around a new ender forest looking for an End City, and then you hear something from right behind you, and you look behind immediately and you see a black mob just watching you with white pale eyes, stalking you from behind a tree. And as soon as you see it, its gone just like that. Out of sight. And I sort of love the idea, that maybe this mob could also be in other dimensions as well. Or maybe just to the End alone. But still I love the idea. This idea came to me when The Warden was added. I would love if Mojang added A stalker type of mob to the game that stalks you and you alone. You don't understand what it wants from you, but you don't know what it is. Is it a person like you? An Enderman? And that's what I love about it so much, that mystery aspect to it that others that like lore could enjoy. Who knows ,maybe in the lore there could be written books from people in the End in the past, that encountered this stalker and didn't know what to think. Maybe they went crazy due to them being in the End for so long now. Who knows.

@@ibeorange5217 Plus with the End's creepy atmosphere and it's feeling like it's alien world, then I think this mob could fit right in. Tho if Mojang would want to add a stalker type of mob to the End, then I think they wouldn't want it to be too scary. Especially when children play this game. So I think it would probably be on the same spectrum as the Creeper. Not too scary, but also unique enough to stand out among the rest of the Mobs in this game.

Nice idea and video! This is really underrated compared to the other End videos that just overlook stuff. In my opinion the End is supposed to have a dreamcore-style vibe, not necessarily barren. A very weird forest with monolithic anemone-like "trees" could work. I also want to see a new ore themed around teleportation with the greenish color of Ender Pearls. Maybe it could be called Jade just like Quartz? Maybe it could be used for crafting End Portals or the solution to those OP waypoint mods? I do also want to see a new endgame biome that’s creepy, glitchy, barren and with very wild generation in the color of the Jade, reminiscent of Pokémon Platinum’s Distortion World and I really want to see a new biblically-accurate angel-like boss here that could be a challenge.

I really feel this is the first and thus far only End Update proposal that is feasible with vanilla Minecraft's current design philosophy I do think Minecraft Dungeons is a great insight into the vibes Mojang has in mind for the End, barren, sickly, alien, such as the yellow grass-like endstone in the game ALSO OML You're one of the seemingly rare people who dont just want OP gear but armor _choice_ and i LOVE that

If some sort of villagers was added, I would personally make them neutral towards the player coming in their own distinct clans so when provoked that specific clan will attack on sight and have them live a nomadic life style with no permanent settlement do to the barrenest of the end, possibly using some variat of the phantom or a mobs from one of MCABNORMALS Mods and they have a unique trading system different from villagers & piglins I call silent trade with these nomads.

i got my own idea: the void case. you can put only 1 of any item inside it and when you die to the void or drop it it will fly back up to the closest landmass so you dont lose it. the downside would be you cannot use the item while its in the case

I think the segment on atmosphere, especially sound design, is important and an oft overlooked part of the design process and speaks to a better understanding of what something like The End; this barren feeling dimension, should be Though having seen a million and one mods and concepts that add "enderite" it was hard to really see dig the idea Pun unintended I think what that this sort of update needs is something that expands on what's already there, an expansion on the architecture of the End City, something to intuit why the buildings are so long, why Shulkers are everywhere I think my favourite ideas for an end expansion come from the "Unusual End" mod, and one of the things it does is connect The End to the Nether by expanding on the Warped Moss a bit, introducing small warped islands and variations of End Ships that are ruined and overgrown with warped moss

Just my take: Enderhares should be clues for enderite underground in the hare's warren. With the addition of teleportation, the enderhares should become killer bunnies once one enters the warren. Enderite armor should be able equal to diamond, not netherite, but would allow incompatible enchantments to co-exist perhaps at a XP - mending cost where if too many enchantments are added it would not only prevent XP from accumulating but deplete XP to zero as it is used up, after which the armor would not mend. The anti void function is nice but unless the end is a livable dimension, the void is not much of a risk.

imo they should take the end from minecraft dungeons and make that feel more ancient and strange with vast citys with no sign of life (maybe insect) strange bridge across the islands, enigma

I agree! That version of the End is so alien and feels lived in, like it’s actually inhabited by an alien species rather than just a bunch of Endermen and a single dragon.

i feel like people hate on 1.9 way too much, it made the combat actually engaging instead of blind button mashing and added literally the entire outer end. it's literally the reason people make actual pvp strategies instead of doing the spam clicking they used to. its the reason people even expect more from the end in the first place. without it, the end wouldnt be anything but a boss arena, and pvp would be about as engaging as in pokemon go. same goes with most other updates tbh, they added quite a good amount of stuff but people just have been spoiled by the nether update. the only real issue is feature bloating becoming much bigger and more noticable. the only updates i'd argue are kind of lackluster for their time were the bee and archeaology updates
