I know a lot of people say Bensler has the best chemistry, but chemistry doesn't make a good relationship. Chemistry is just sexual tension. That doesn't mean they'd be able to work out their little differences in the relationship. But, Liv can choose whomever she wants, if she loves him, she can go ahead. But I just want to see her friendship with Barba fixed. That kind of pure friendship is unmatched with any other she had on the show, the writers can't just destroy it like that, no way🤧😭

All Liv's relationships didn't work because she was in love with Stabler. Like her therapist said she has idealized that "relationship" that prevented her from getting close to anyone. With the return of Stabler Liv's insecurities came back to surface. She admitted to her therapist that her and Noa went through the pandemic period fine. But since the second year of the pandemic she is waking up in the middle of the night feeling unhappy. As her therapist insisted Liv needs to find out if an actual relationship with Elliot will work out or she needs to move on with her life. This love ghosts her and has kept her behind in her personal life. So we kindly ask the writers to allow her explore her relationship with Stabler for her own well being. Barba in my opinion has proven to be more stable supportive honest and caring in her life than Stabler ever was. I believe that him trying to keep her safe and watching out for her career several different times in the few years than any of her past relationships. No to mention even though he had no children he was the one she chose to talk to about her sons issue's kidnapping past and future with. That speaks volumes to me as a parent myself. Not to mention the fact Stabler ghosted Liv and Barba supported her threw all of that as well. That's just my thoughts though.

I am Bensler all the way. Their history since 99 is unmatched. What they went through and all, the fact that Elliot fell in love with his partner but stayed faithful to his wife until her last day of life must the recognized. Stabler FTW. a Major reason is contrary to what people say, the myth about him holding her back, Elliot actually helped Liv grow and taught her a lot of her strengths(for instance he inspired her and even assured her she will be a GREAT MOTHER despite her upbringing, he mortgaged his house to get her out of jail and prove her innoncence), y'all need to remember when she first started out in 1998 she was a junior 3rd grade detective Stabler was in SVU since 1992, she grew into one of 2 best detectives the 12 years along with him. I will say Liv held herself back because she was a bit TOO DEPENDENT ON ELIOT, even he told her at one point he can't always be depended on, and as disapointing as it was its a good thing he left and ALLOWED Liv to depend on herself and grow much more into her own, its natural when two best friends separate they grew, and so did he. yeah he had anger issues stemming from not resolving childhood issues, but HE ALWAYS ACTIVELY TRIED TO IMPROVE HIMSELF and has gotten better over the years and ALWAYS cared about people, he's always been a good hearted dude, and in OC he literally lost his wife and suffered PTSD which is why he's trying to work on himself. Yall forget Liv also had her fair share of issues like Elliot did and she made some DUMB AND STUPID decisions on HER OWN both personal and professional lives, while he was her partner and AFTER she was promoted. Now I will say Barba is cool in his own right too, but dude shouldn't have defended wheatley.

When Benson asked to investigate as an inmate in jail, Cragen asked Fin to protect her. Not Stabler who would lose his temper. When she is UC investigating the eco-terrorist gang, she called Fin on the phone. Stabler would not be able to shut up about her UC job. And Cragen asked her to watch on Stabler : he had 5 or 6 good shots already. This guy should not have his badge ... And the show was about how can they have any family life... Stabler had a family. Benson was alone. Single child raised by her mother. ( It happened so many times that the main character would stay on the same show while his partner is moving to ,,, another show so she can be the main character.) Like Rollins, what did she have to lose ?

You can see it in the way they look at each other and when they are alone and it's silent there is awkward tension like both knows there are feelings there but they don't want to talk about it. Sorry for this long post.... olivia wouldn't have grown in her professional & personal life while elliot was still there. At that time they both felt and knew they were more than just work partners..#Facts their SOULMATES!!!! El told her he loves her ..you mean the world to me... They need to have that conversation in order for both of them to finally be together ❤ I bet one of the resasons why elliot left cause he felt that he was holding her back from becoming the person who she is now Lieutenant/ Sargeant Mon & now Captin of SVU..It sucked she went through HELL to get there.. That shooting sent his ass over the edge it was the last straw for him. We all know why none of her relationship never latest cause she wasn't in love with none of them... Now he's back his wife dies.. he's going through those PTSD & emotions of loosing his wife & getting justice for her along with other things. They did Barba so dirty by having him try the murderer of Stabler's wife. They could have had him try any case against SVU but this was so wrong so I'm basically ignoring any episodes that happen after he leaves (that he is in). At the beginning of the show I shipped Benson and Stabler because they had a natural chemistry and understand eachother. , Rewatching the seasons I see that younger Benson falling for Stabler was inevitable because of how closely they worked together. At this stage they are equals and amazing partners: Stabler was very protective of her and would quite happily run into danger for her and she could usually mellow him out. Honestly I originally wanted them as endgame. However, by the time Barba shows up on the scene she is not that same woman. She becomes sergent and a mother, not to mention the William Lewis situation. She is more mature and needs someone who can support her leadership without worrying about them going off the rails (she even implies Stabler would torture WL after everything he did to her which is not what she needs). Barba has his moments (Oh boy does he!) but he supports her in pretty much everything. He will call her out when she crosses a line but ultimately he is someone she can talk things through and trust him not to act on impulse. She helped Barba grow as a person by inspiring him. I think Liv S14-18 fits with Barba much better and they should have been endgame.

Barba was a good ADA but when paired with Olivia on a more personal level they basically lacked any real sparks. They played well, but it often fell flat. He and Olivia made for good friends and adversaries at work, but honestly it felt like the show runners were trying too hard to find a replacement for Stabler in her life. Raul Esparza is a great actor and I’m sure they loved working with him when he was on the show. But he lacked the immense chemistry on screen that Chris and Mariska have naturally. They don’t even have to work for it, it’s just THERE and that translates perfectly on screen. On screen relationships work better when the actors portraying them have legitimate chemistry off screen. But to make the point, Barba left her too. And he betrayed her by defending Wheatley even though he knew how she felt about it. Stabler made a lot of mistakes, but I don’t believe he intended to hurt her and I think he’s trying to make it up to her now. And let’s face it Barba was not in a relationship why didn’t he make a move on Olivia if he cared so much?!? Why leave without being honest?! Nope but there’s no contest. #BenslerForever
