A cheeky remix of a classic track. I always wanted to hear a faster more 'dance' version of the sultry original so I did it myself in 2008. What a fantastic song to remix. Enjoy and dance to it like there's no tomorrow.

thanks ! I didn't have access to stems. I equed the original song to remove the bass and then raised the eq around the vocal range. you can still hear the whole song in the background but just eqd out a lot. then I cut each vocal passage into sections . I created the backing tracks, drums, synths bass etc with a cheap bit of software called music maker by magix, added new synth lines myself and then meticulously added each vocal segment and tweaked the pitch and tempo digitally to match the tempo of the new backing track.I placed each vocal segment in a different pan position and added effects to make them sound like cool samples of the 80s. then compressed and equed the whole mix and that was that. it's just a hobby mate. if I had the real stems, I'd go to town!!

Wow! Thanks for the quick reply! I only have Apple's Garage Band and to night I tried to make almost kareoke vocal removal, and well it is not great, but this kind od thing is very in demand, dunnow if legal or pay per use, but people want to sing less popular or classic songs at kareokes, more on that if you are interested... Thank you for sharing your process, I will find an APPLE software to help me with my remixes....

Josaphah to truly erase a vocal track from a song the vocal had to have been mixed in the dead centre of the mix this enables software to algorithmically ignore the central line and sort of cancel the musical elements in the centre. You can also assist by adjusting the track EQ to cut the human voice frequencies. A lot of mixers leave an EQ pocket in the mix to sit the vocals in and this makes them sit in the mix better rather than everything being the same curve... If you record yourself singing, try cutting anything below 100hz and then scroll the EQ across your vocal and thee will be a specific EQ range that when cut, will make you sound much more like a 'real' studio vocal... Hope that helps.
