Love this song because you can hear ELO singing the backing on this typical sounding ELO production ❤️ My guilty pleasure song is from the 70's. " Sky High " from Jigsaw ❤️ I play it all the time, it's on my most played Playlist ❤️

"MAGIC". I love Olivia Newton John. Another couple went to see the movie with my wife and I when it came out. The music is great. The story line is about a muse. A daughter of Zeus. Inspiring a young man to have a venue for disco renovated. On another note, find out why Keith Emerson was called the "Jimi Hendrix of the organ". Find on KZbin (“Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Rondo Live in Zurich 1970”) Then hear his adaptation of the piano concerto "Toccata" and the English Church Hymn "Jerusalem" from the Brain Salad Surgery album.

This wasn't credited only to ONJ, but also to ELO. Jeff Lynne, ELO's frontman composed, wrote and produced "XANADU" for the soundtrack which contains 10 tracks in total. ONJ sang 5 tracks for the A side, while ELO had the remaining 5 for the B side with ONJ joining up with ELO for the last track which was "XANADU". ELO did have a 6th track which was featured in the film, an instrumental called "DRUM DREAMS" which was played just prior to the title track in the film. The film was a complete wash out, but the music, you just cannot ignore, with smash hits for both ELO & ONJ, the title track peaked #1 in the UK, whilst ONJ had a #1 hit with the track "MAGIC". ELO also did well with 3 other songs, "I'M ALIVE", "ALL OVER THE WORLD" & "DON'T WALK AWAY. The soundtrack was a sensation as well, peaking #1 in several other countries.

Olivia does a great cover Original! 😃 Original is performed by ELO. I recall the movie. Olivia had an odd duet with The Tubes. This video was weird. How it fit in the movie beats me! 🤪 This video was the finale of the movie Xanadu. Suggested next Olivia video: Twist of Fate. Olivia sang song for the soundtrack of the same name. John Travolta is the co-star. 1983.
@bradsouthers74763 жыл бұрын
Olivia/ELO is the original. The ELO-only version didn't come out until 20 years later. The duet with TheTubes was the blending of the old and the new, which was the underlying theme of the entire story. Xanadu is such an underrated movie. Silly, predictable, yet very entertaining.

DayOne Reacts This was a Scene from the 80`s Classic "Xanadu"...In which,The Modern-Day Zeus Decides to send out his "Muses",to help mortals... ONJ,The singer you see,Plays "Kira",The Blonde Beauty Muse....This was the Last Scene of the movie,and This was her Goodbye to her Mortal True love Sunny, Before she had to leave,For Olympus..So she Helps Sunny Open up,and make Popular,The Dance Club/Adult Bar known as Xanadu,Which was named after a Near Paradisical Area In China,A Home to Kublai Khan,and a China-Based City,too.. The Back-up Vocalists you hear are Member of the Late 70s,Early Eighties Group Known as ELO,WHICH HELPED ONJ Create the soundtrack for the movie,and the Album. Oh,the females that you see come out, that`re dancing with the guys, Are Kira`s Sister Muses, to help her set up this Performance.. They will not show that in the end of the performance, The Sister Muses,And Kira Left is a Streak of Bright color,to head to Olympus,With Kira Blowing Sunny a kiss Goodbye,Before Shooting off herself...When I saw the scene,I cried for them both..Because they will NEVER be together,@ Zeus`s Orders,Because He felt Mortals and Goddess-like muses Should never be together..It REALLY broke my heart.
