Is it bad that I've had a crush on Olivia for 50 years? I fell in love with that angelic voice and looks in the early 70s when I was about 8, because my parents liked her. I remember hearing her 8-track tapes and then LPs. I've never gotten tired of listening to her or seeing her. Such an angel. ;-)

I saw the movie Xanadu when I was on a Air Force base at the base movie theater which I lived right across the street from 10, yes 10, times because I was, and still am a HUGE fan of Olivia's and will always be from now on. I should say that Olivia is one of the legends of the music industry, internationally. She has made her own mark that even now, people still love her. If I were to have a baby girl someday, I would love to name it after her and my Mom coz my mother loves Olivia so much, I would name my baby Olivia Marie. But that's not to soon. Lynn owns all the rights to his song and the musical he wrote of this same name. She pays the royalties

Lynne wrote half the songs on the Xanadu soundtrack; the other half (including the album's biggest hit, Magic) was written by ONJ's producer, John Farrar, and published by ONJ Music. And since she was the original singer on the record, she doesn't have to pay royalties to perform the song live. Although I'm sure she doesn't begrudge royalties to him each time it appears on one of her Greatest Hits albums.

He doesn’t sing it well, that’s the paradox of all good ELO songs, the music is beautiful but his gruff ragged voice doesn’t suit them at all. If the music’s good enough his voice doesn’t ruin it, but they all would’ve been better with someone like Olivia Newton-John singing.
