@@jessicam5712 Well since I happened to graduate the same year as Taylor, and just a few towns over, I got to hear it directly from dozens of people who knew her from high school once I got to college with many of them. Also, this observation can be made simply by listening to her music over the years. She can’t keep a guy around. We’re talking possibly hundreds of guys to this point, too. The media has nothing to do with how I interpret her. Insofar as Olivia stole any music of hers, that’s something the courts can, and have, settled since that’s where Taylor decided to escalate it.

I honestly get so fricken mad when someone makes problems over having the same set of chords in two songs. Just because someone released a song with a set of chords, doesn't mean that the set of chords automatically belongs to them. There's a high probability of them being repeated because obviously, there are a limited amount of chords than can be played in sequence, that doesn't sound like crap. This video is misleading. It’s not the chords themselves. You can’t copyright chords. That’d be insane and every musician in the world would owe royalties to someone. She had to give credits cause she sampled “New Years Day.” It wasn’t just the chords - it’s that they were played in the exact same way as a preexisting song. Take for example, thriller. If there was a song with the same chords, no harm no foul. But if you use that iconic baseline in a song, you’re gonna have to give credit.
