When I watched Addie recording vocals and she shared some of the music for your cover, I knew I was going to prefer this to the original. I don't love the original song, but Olivia has vocal talent. I love this cover. I've been sifting through covers and heard multiple rock versions. By far, this was my favorite. The thing I appreciated in this cover particularly were those points where there was a 'rest.' I'm not musically inclined so I don't know if there's actually a word for that. Examples are in 0:50, 1:18 (where the band tones it down and the vocalist goes soft), 3:15 (with that epic shout to that high note - again I'm not musically inclined), plus that ending.... A lot of people think rock is all drive and strong beats but those resting points you had in this song allows for a proper listen to the lyrics. It might just be me but I think it brings a nice touch to the musicality of the piece. It also showcases the amazing band. Great cover and incredible work all around. I may be late to the party but this was a lovely find. Thank you!
