FANTASTIC!! Your tutorials feature so many aspects of Affinity Photo that others don't address.

An excellent intro to AP brushes. I needed this, and look forward to your more advanced brushes tutorial. You didn't have time to describe the effects of the Dynamics on the far right-hand side--those that look like graphs for each dynamic. Thanks a bunch.

Thank you, I'm starting to understand brushes better now and I just bought a drawing tablet so now it makes more sense on how to best use them!

I'm rather free as a bird. But they could pay me as an adviser. As a tutorial and product creator I have a lot of ideas where they should improve next. Especially for digital products around their main software, like brushes :)

I have avoided diving into using brushes. I tried them out on a friend's computer and wasn't able to restore the default brush Affinity Photo uses when first installed. My friend tried restoring all defaults and that STILL didn't restore the standard brush, so he had to reinstall the full program and now won't talk to me. Please tell me which brush is the default one used by the brush tool so I can explore other brushes and hopefully repair my friendship as well.

My Mind Has Been Well and Truly BLOWN by this ! I didn't realise just what is possible with Brushes. So could I create a 'custom bird brush' from a bird photo, that I could then add onto another photo as a layer ?
@OlivioSarikas3 жыл бұрын
Thank you :) Yes, you can do that. If you check my 1.9 Review video, I also show the new way how to do that in 1.9 - it's super easy now!

Awesome. Please report back if the Apple Pencil has pressure and works with Affinity Photo :)
@KevinPhillipssb6 жыл бұрын
Olivio Sarikas I have tried the Apple Pencil on my iPad, and for me, they work just fine, impressive even. I am not a digital painter so I am not able to tell the subtleties being described by Marco as I have not tried these other products. Having said this, on a positive note, it means I can do some brushwork on my iPad and then continue my workflow on my desktop Mac (which doesn’t have a graphics pad).
@OlivioSarikas6 жыл бұрын
Awesome, that sounds great. Mostly i think the test with a brush is to see if there is any lag with more complex or larger brushes, because that would be a problem for the flow and stroke when painting. However, when you just do some re-touching the brush can be used slower, so that shouldn't interfere too much with the work.

Please someone can tell me how do i interactively change the size of the brush in Affinity Photo like when you do in photoshop pressing Alt+Right Click and drag? Please I've been searching everywhere.

Press Alt+Right AND Left Click (at the same time), then drag it up/down left/right :)

when I open Affinity photo there's no place in the program that it shows me brushes. How do I get brushes to show up in the app on my Mac and is there any way to get different brushes like for hard or soft or medium strokes with a brush?

hi, Samuel, Go to "View -> Studio -> Brushes" to check if they are visible.

do you know how to stroke a path with a brush in affinity photo?
@OlivioSarikas5 жыл бұрын
Hi belajb, you can't do that in Affinity Photo, because these are pixel brushes, not vector brushes. However you can do it in Affinity Designer and then copy it over to Affinity Photo :)

Affinity brushes are bad. Most of photoshop brushes don’t work correctly in affinity. And this is sad. If they redoing their brush engine it will be one of the best apps

Brush settings in Photo are so counterintuitive that I quit. They don’t work. Just it. I spent hours to figure out how to make simple setting like in ps but i failed.
