Instant thumbs up and I will be purchasing your brush pack. I've been wondering how to rotate the brushes without changing the actual brush for a while now.

Great tutorial. Other than using Transform to flip the layer horizontally, is there a way to horizontally flip a brush? For example, a stamp brush of a tree might lean towards the right, but to use it with the scene, you need it to lean towards the left. Rotating the brush will put it upside down.
@IAMRENSI9 ай бұрын
What you could do is stamp the tree on a new layer first; and then flip the layer. Not sure if we can flip a brush, but it will get you the same result! Hope this helps 👊🏼

Awesome Video Thanks so much! Just one thing regarding the brush history . The history doesn't save if you close out the window and then go to restore it again to continue working on the project unless you now of a way that I don't know. I hope Serif will remedy this problem. Thanks again for doing these very helpful videos!

What is the masking brush used for?
@IAMRENSI Жыл бұрын
To mask out something in a specific shape. Let’s say you put your subject in grass. With the grass brush you can mask out parts of the subject as if it is standing in the grass. Hope this helps! 🙌

Does affinity photo have that basic soft brush like photoshop has??
@chelseadudley53810 ай бұрын
Super new to affinity photo 2(windows) touchscreen laptop. Please help😂 When I'm using the brush tool and switch from touchpad to the touchscreen the brush opacity and size seem to change even though it's the same brush, size, and opacity setting.(lower opacity and slightly smaller)

That sounds odd, I honestly have no idea how to solve that since I’m on a MacBook! Hope you solved the issue by now! 🙌

When I'm using the Brush and I click on ALT to color pick, I can't see the magnifying tool to select the color. I can select a color, but can't see correctly which color I'm selecting. Does anyone have the same problem? How do I fix this?
@IAMRENSI7 ай бұрын
The trick is to not just hold Alt and click once. With the Brush Tool selected want to hold Alt and move your cursor around. Then it should show the magnified view. Hope this helps!

The masking brush in Development persona Overlays in Affinity Photo version 2.0.3 to my big surprise doesn't draw a straight line in the commonly accepted standard from Photoshop - that is: hold the Shift key down>move to a new position. This will draw a straight line between the clicked positions. But not in Affinity Photo. I like to draw precise masks (in Photoshop) using a lot of short straight lines, so this is a showstopper for me in my attempt to join the Affinity Photo system. Still not a word about this from the development team behind Affinity Photo.

Great video but you want more for a set of brushes than the cost of the actual AP software. Good luck to you, but I think it's a big ask.

It might be because you're working in a mask layer. Does it also happen when you're working on a pixel layer?

First ''hack' is for Affinity to fix a few things like highlight the brush being used --- cannot be 'that' hard .

One thing photo manipulation artists don't point out in their videos is perspective. It's very important for selecting assets to place in another image to add to realism.
@IAMRENSI2 жыл бұрын
You got a very good point there! Perspective is something which can totally make or break an image. I might one day turn it into a tutorial :) Thanks for your feedback, Charleone !

I don't understand when people make these videos to teach they go so fast and don't full explain or show what they are clicking on. I love your videos but slow down some and explain what and why you click on something. I keep replaying some section back and still can't hear what you are saying.
@IAMRENSI Жыл бұрын
I appreciate your feedback and am now slowing down my tutorials so they are easier to follow. Hope it helps! Thanks for letting me know, friend 🙌😊

Why do people call the built-in features of an application a "HACK". You aren't hacking anything.

Good info. But you talk too fast, and edit out every pause. So my brain gets tired trying to keep up. So, I stop watching. I'll watch later, but ONLY if I can't get the info somewhere else.
@IAMRENSI2 жыл бұрын
Hi Grant ! Thanks for your honest feedback. To explain: by editing out the pauses I try to keep the retention high for the KZbin algorithm, but if you as viewer can not follow along it doesn’t make sense at all. I will try to slow down the pace of my content in the future. I’m pretty sure I am teaching things that you won’t find anywhere else :) I hope you will learn a lot here on the channel !
