Great Vid...! Thanks for posting...! These little airplanes are fascinating to see in action.... In my QB mag, several months ago, there was an article with about 5 friends who flew their Kit Foxes from the lower "48" up to Alaska.... Great story... Have fun with yours!!! Gordon

how does the wing strut pivot at the fuselage?

What's your upkeep on a kitfox. Thinking about getting one but I don't know anybody that has one. Or how expensive it is a year. No hanger cost.

The folding wing is a big factor why I want one of these hanger rental in my area is $500 a month and 45 minute drive closer airports have 2-5 year waiting list, but I have a nice area I can park a trailer easily have my airplane right at home where I can do all my own work on it there.
@ThomasDoubting55 жыл бұрын
500 a month that figure is out right extortion... No doubt to ensure only certain pay grade individuals are afforded the pleasure

Save up for a year or 2 and buy your own land to take off from.

3 questions: 1) by pulling the plane out holding the propeller, don’t you bend the propeller in some way ? 2) how much a kitfox costs? 3) where is this place ?
@Olle19755 жыл бұрын
Sun Shine 1.) no, I touch only the blade-root. 2.) between 10-40 k 3.) France

I’m considering a similar setup. What trailer dimensions are needed to house a Kitfox?
@Olle19756 жыл бұрын
Mr. Vaughn I could send a drawing from the trailer, need mail or something like this....

Doesn't the aileron linkages need to be installed on the model 3? Perhaps you didn't show this step? My understanding is that on the model 2 and 1, you didn't have to disconnect that linkage when folding the wings.
@Olle19755 жыл бұрын
carlylea yes, model 3 too 👍

Thank you very much. Did you make the trailer? If so, do you have any photos or video? Do you have room in front of the rudder when the airplane is stowed in the trailer? Is there a heater in the trailer for preheating in cold weather? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks for posting. Robert
@Olle19759 жыл бұрын
Thank you. The trailer was build by a friend of mine and it's as long as the airplane, no room behind or in front of it. No heater inside.

What are the trailer (like that) minimal dimensions?
@edpaine79826 жыл бұрын
Might have dozed off while you were pulling out, but nice plane

Don't the flaperons need connecting after the wings get unfolded?
@Olle19757 жыл бұрын
At Kitfox III the connection is always given during fold-/ or unfold-process.

I really want to to see videos from people who are hooking up their bird from home and actually trailering it to the airfield ... i see the feature and so few people using it... i figure that is false it just means none of the people i know bother to record such a thing ... but it'd be handy to see .. as to me I'll be sport pilot exclusively i am one who just doesn't want to go dropping coin on a hanger so that leaves the trailer ... unless when the time comes i luck out and can fill in someone else's spare hanger space with a folded wing bird --- i also have not written off the extra tailwheel endorsement considering I want to do backcountry camping trips with it so -- tailwheel has its perks in that department ... I'll cross that bridge when i get there as well ... I have time to research this for the next several years in the meantime and decide
