Gray-Nicolls are delighted to announce the signing of England and Surrey batsman Ollie Pope on a multi-year deal.
The 23-year-old middle order player joins Gray-Nicolls after an exciting start to his England career. One of the most highly regarded talents in the sport, Pope has 17 England Test caps to his name, and scored his maiden Test century against South Africa in Port Elizabeth in January 2020.
Pope rose through the ranks of the Surrey academy, and had long been touted as a future England player long before his debut, which came after just 15 first class matches for his county.
A 360-degree batsman and accomplished wicketkeeper, Pope joins Zak Crawley and Dom Sibley as the leaders of a new generation of batting talent using Gray-Nicolls for England.
Richard Gray said “We are thrilled that Ollie has joined Gray-Nicolls on a multi-year deal. He is a hugely exciting player who we are sure will go on to even bigger things with our unparalleled product and service.”
Ollie Pope said “It’s so exciting to be joining such an historic brand. The bats I’ve seen the other guys use in the changing rooms have been incredible, and I can’t wait to get going with my own.”
Pope will use the Blue MAAX for the start of the English summer.
