The History of the Turkic Languages

Developing some time after 1000 BCE, the theoretical 'Proto-Turkic' language gradually spread throughout much of Central Asia during the first few centuries of the Common Era. It divided and further divided into sub-families, which continued to spread west during the Middle Ages. Today, the descendants of these people can be found as far west as Turkey, and as far east as the fringes of Mongolia.

2:31 Pecheneg Turks went to the Balkans and became Christians. Later, they became mercenaries in the Byzantine army. In the war between the Seljuk Turks and Byzantium in 1071, the Pecheneg Turks switched sides and joined the Seljuks, as we spoke the same language. If there is a Turkish Republic today, we owe it to the Turkish language and Turkish brotherhood Yaşasın dilimiz!

keep in mind, Turkic mercenaries often waited to see who was winning and then either switched to the side of the winner or simply abandoned the field.

Only about 1000 mercenaries crossed over to the side of the Turkish army. Seeing this, Roman Diogenes made the other Turkish mercenaries swear on the Bible and still kept them under strict observation at night.

Of course German never made up a majority in those countries, but after the Baltic crusades, there were mass settlements of noble families descended from the Teutonic Knights that made up no more than 5-10% of the population, but still held disproportionate political power and influence. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baltic_Germans en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danube_Swabians en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transylvanian_Saxons en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volga_Germans

Make them? The difference is that they have the power to send you back if they wanted to (and kill you if you resisted) - you don't! If it ever comes to that, do you think it's a fucking game where they care about stupid responses like "you should leave too"? Who is gonna make them if they make you go back? You would be wiped out for such ideas in the past. That is, before the Europeans/white people castrated themselves, that's how they acted, and you submitted yourself to their power. A fact! Europeans can annul all these concepts if they are left with chaos and in the midst of that chaos a radical leader emerges and says "hey, what about those Turks that sent a lot of people we didn't want and have been a nuisance to Europe for centuries"? Don't forget, these concepts of universal human rights and social justice is modern western inventions. Even the idea of occupation is a western concept. In the past, everyone just called it "yours"; meaning that what you could conquer was yours (it amuses me to hear from anti-western IS, Al-Qaida and such that USA must leave "occupied lands"). Back then, the one with the most power was supreme. Reverting to that mode is still a possibility for the so called civilized world. If the only thing you got in response to that is a western borrowed ignorant idea of equal outcomes then you're doomed.

‘’The History’’ was written by the Largest Empires such as British, Mongol, Great Selcuq, Ottoman, Russia, Spanish, Ummayad, GokTurk Khaganate, Khazar Khaganate, Roman, Timurid etc. They had built the world map, while others were living under their rules. Possible ways of measuring their size include area, population, economy, and power. They had consistent power and strategy to spread across the Continents and huge areas and build a system to manage countries and its people. There are many nationalities, unfortunately, who had been disappeared as a result of the war. They are those, who resisted without having compatible capability and resources. BCE (Before the Common Era) etc that people share today, are Purely Myth and subjective views of some individuals. Last 1000 years still may have more relevant and accurate information, which still being interpreted by people. However, sounds like only Turkish Empires/ Dynasty has left huge Turkish countries who is in current world map. They are Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan

Hey, Ollie Bye, it looks very confused from Bulgarian point of view. First, it's strange the way Bulgar and Khazar appear from Onogur at the same as though they lived together in so far. We were much earlier there together with the Huns and Avars!!! Then Khazars came and probably their language mixed to be found similar some time later on. Second, we moved to the Balkans in the 5th, 6th century, where is that? Then there is a wrong representation of the Bulgarians moving very early to Volga, at the time we were still near the Caspian and the Azov. After that at least three different branches are missing, two in Balkans, one in Panonia etc. It's really weird to show us in the far north in the mid 7th century when our capital was on the Azov sea!? Balkan Cumans totally missing!? : ): ) Please correct that if possible. I personally like the way you added the Chuvashian, but it may be just a guess : )

The predecessors of Huihe were Xiongnu. Because, customarily, they ride high-wheeled carts. They were also called Gaoche during the Yuan Wei times, or also called Chile, mistakenly rendered as Tiele. - Xin Tangshu, 232 Weishu, vol. 103 txt: "高車,[...] 其語略與匈奴同而時有小異,或云其先匈奴之甥也", tr: "The Gaoju, [...] their language and the Xiongnu's are similar though differ a little; or to say it differently, they are the sororal nephews/sons-in-laws of the Xiongnu” According to the Book of Wei, the Yuebans' language and customs were the same as the Gaoche, who were Turkic speakers. Yuebans(Weak Xiongnu) cut their hair and trimmed their ghee-smeared, sun-dried, glossy eyebrows evenly, and washed before meals three times everyday. Weishu, Vol. 102 "其風俗言語與高車同,而其人清潔於胡。俗剪髮齊眉,以醍醐塗之,昱昱然光澤,日三澡漱,然後飲食。" Chinese sources link the Tiele people and Ashina to the Xiongnu, According to the Book of Zhou and the History of the Northern Dynasties, the Ashina clan was a component of the Xiongnu confederation. Linghu Defen et al., Book of Zhou, Vol. 50. (in Chinese) Li Yanshou (李延寿), History of the Northern Dynasties, Vol. 99. (in Chinese) Uyghur Khagans claimed descent from the Xiongnu (according to Chinese history Weishu, the founder of the Uyghur Khaganate was descended from a Xiongnu ruler). The Gaoche are probably remnants of the ancient Red Di. Initially they had been called Dili. Northerners take them as Chile. Chinese take them as Gaoche Dingling. Their language, in brief, and Xiongnu [language] are the same yet occasionally there are small differences. Or one may say that they [Gaoche] are the junior relatives[18] of the Xiongnu in former times. The Gaoche migrate in search of grass and water. They dress in skins and eat meat. Their cattle and sheep are just like those of the Rouran, but the wheel of their carts are high and have very many spokes. - Weishu, 103 The forebears of the Tiele belonged to those Xiongnu descendants, having the largest divisions of tribes. They occupied the valleys, and were scattered across the vast region west of the Western Sea [Black Sea] At the area north of the Duluo River, are the Bugu (僕骨), Tongluo (同羅), Weihe (韋紇),[17] Bayegu (拔也古), Fuluo (覆羅), which were all called Sijin (Irkin). Other tribes such as Mengchen (蒙陳), Turuhe (吐如紇), Sijie (斯結),[a] Hun (渾), Hu (斛), Xue (薛) (or Huxue) and so forth, also dwelled in this area. They had a 20,000 strong invincible army. [...] The names of these tribes differ, but all of them can be classified as Tiele. The Tiele do not have a master, but are subjected to the both Eastern and Western Tujue (Göktürks) respectively. They don't have a permanent residence, and move with the changes of grass and water. - Suishu, 84

Thank you for this beautiful presentation, Ollie Bye. The map is beautiful and the movements upon it well illustrate the Evolution of languages...in this case the Turkic languages and dialects. Could you build a presentation like this that illustrates the Evolution of the Persian languages? I ask because of the controversy that is ongoing about these two language systems. I believe they both have common roots, way back in time, in the Altai Region...and before that in the Mesopotamia of the Nodites (referred to in the "Urantia Book") the Gardens Of Eden and the Origin Homelands of all Humanity near India. I understand that the further back you go in tracking these languages, the harder it is to be accurate about them. But it might be at least entertaining, to build one of your composite masterpieces incorporating the "Big Picture" that goes back, say, sixty thousand years? Of course, you would have to include the Neanderthal (Andonite) tongues too. This might be a fun project for you.

The idea is good, but the execution leaves much to be desired. Starting with the description in the beginning: "as far east as the fringers of Mongolia" - you meant Eastern Siberia, right? Mongolia is not a Turkic region. Lots of languages are omitted. By 2019 it should have been presented also by Tatars and Chuvash (almost right next to Chuvash), Azerbaijans, Kymyks, Karachays, Balkars in the Caucasus, you've also forgotten to put Tuvans near Altay. And Khaka should have been evolved into Sakha.

From a broad historical perspective, the History of Central Eurasia has been described as the " conflict between steppe and sown " referring to the tensions between the nomads of the steppe and the agriculturalist living on the land sown with seeds. When the sedentary kingdoms were powerful, and trade was profitable, the nomads would frequently become willing trading partners. On the other hand, if the sedentary states(Indo Europeans) were weak, a charismatic khaghan arose in the steppes, or natural or political disasters forced the nomads to the verge of starvation, the nomads would often attack, and occasionally overwhelm sedentary civilizations. The history of Central Eurasia is in part the story of repeated waves of nomads attacking- with varying degrees of success, the sedentary states of China, India, the Near East, and Europe.
