Here's a few links for my favorite credit cards. I try to check the links often, but let me know if there is a problem. If they change the offer on the card, I may need to update the link. Full disclosure, I get a few airline miles for referring a new customer. You should get the same public offer at no additional cost. Thank you very much.

Joe. I lived in Olongapo from 1970 till 1974. The City has definitely changed. I remember the night lights of the clubs back in the day when there were bars for the sailors to enjoy themselves in the evening. I remember the s river as well crossing over to the base. I went to school in the base starting from Kindergarten till third grade. The base was an awesome place to have fun from bowling, movies, fishing, visiting Cubi point and Grande Island. Great times. Thanks for sharing.

At 73 years OLD now, I have been Romancing ideas of going back to the Phillippines for a 30 or so vacation and perhaps find an area to live on a more perminate basis, but after watching this video, it just doesn't seem or feel the same old way like it used to be back in the late 1960's-1970's. Now it seems more STERILE and LESS Exciting than Olongapo USED to be for this Old Sailor . I reckon that I'll just live on the Memories that I went through... Back in the Days when One could REALLY PARTY ON ! Thank YOU WHOLE BIG BUNCHES for YOUR Efforts and Time making this video !!!

I was stationed at Cubi point in the 60s and rented an apartment in Olongapo. As a musician it was wonderful and absorbing the culture was like having a large family. The bar b que stands, the money exchange, and the night clubs are not part of the scene now but the memories are fresh still, all things must pass.

I was born in Olongapo but left when I was 5. Lived right down by the roundabout on Magsaysay and 7th St. It was nice to see that my godfather’s pizza restaurant still going strong. We used to visit every couple of years up until my mom passed away a decade ago so I got to see all the different changes Magsaysay went through in the 80’s, 90’s and 2000’s. I left Subic Jan 1991. These are the bars I remember Gordon Ave. Ts Tavern Hot Lips 💋. on Magsaysay Mettalica Bar, Florida Bar, Johhny Os, Guns n Roses bar. Out in the Barrio my favorite was the Midnight Rambler and Boodles. We went to Subic City and went to Muffdivers once. I watched Billiy Joel play at the football stadium on the base. I swore and have dreamt of returning for 30-plus years. I had everything in order, and then Covid changed my comfortablness with traveling abroad and living expat style. My GF back then Jerry Ann Cano from Cebu . I've always wondered where she ended up at. The last memory of her is kissing her goodbye at the bridge over S river at the main gate. About 4 months after I left for the States, Mt Punatubo erupted. I've always hoped she wasn't affected too terribly. The P.I. is such an awesome place. Can't see seeing it again in this lifetime unless the world makes a serious about face to what's happening.

Thank you friend for bringing me back to memory lane. My fondest memories of my ole Navy days have once again brought me back smiles, and good times. As a FilAm Retired Navy Serviceman, I visited Philippines for the first time with my Uncle, who was at the time stationed aboard the USS CORAL SEA CV-43 back in 1981-83. Olongapo was our usual port visit, and of course Magsaysay was more active then, especially with the entire fleet in town. But nevertheless, it is still a big part of my lifetime memory, and I’ve had the opportunity to return to the Philippines several more times via my next duty assignment in 1985-88 aboard USS ENTERPRISE CVN-65. Now in my mid 60s…..I’m going home again with my wife to start a new chapter, and Olongapo will certainly be the place for us to revisit. Thank you for the memories friend 😎😇🙏⚓️⚓️🇺🇸🇵🇭🇺🇸🇵🇭🇺🇸🇵🇭🇺🇸🇵🇭🇺🇸🇵🇭👍

I used to walk about alot almost every day not only to see the bars/shops and everything else but stay in shape. I was in my late 20's walking about there and now in my upper 60's and about to retire in a year, I may go back and visit just to relive the times I had fun there as a young sailor. Im still single thought. I do remember seeing so many kids; Ameriasians that us sailors/marines made for decades; obvious who the fathers are with some kids. I loved some of the filipino delicacies; pansit, etc. I'll have fun watching these videos from you guys and think about revisiting my younger times there. Thanks for the videos.

In its debauchery heyday, Olongapo was great fun. During SP, I got to walk into every bar and check out each of their themes. The beer was cheap and the entertainment was great fun. There was a dark side to that town as well - organized crime, constant power outages, dirty water, trafficking, etc. I always felt a grungy factor there. I remember seeing sailors who were stationed there and they all looked haggard and thrashed. All those years of cheap beer, heavy smoking, bad tats, and willing women took their toll.

I was just talking with a buddy today. He used to do shore patrol when the battlegroup arrived. The USS Nimitz group arrives here in Thailand today. I think liberty is a little less crazy today. @@EagerExpat The problems with carriers was long hours and dangerous jobs. So many folks would go hog wild blowing off steam. They even showed the STD films before pulling in but it didn't matter. I love Bangkok, would love to visit again real soon. I also remember stopping in Pattaya Beach. Great times and many old sea stories. I would go back just for the deep tissue foot massages. They were epic. Can't find those here in SD.

It sure had changed. The bases are returning. The Las Vegas in PI might come back to life. I'm sure some in the PI don't miss the craziness. But, they probably will be OK with the millions flowing into the economy. Not just bars, but shipyards, tailors, mechanics, etc.. When we ran off the ship in the 80s hundreds of shipyard staff came aboard. 10 hours later you'd come back and things were welded, painted, repaired. It was the best
