Has similarities to Gilmour, Hendrix, Trucks, Scofield, Clapton, SRV, a bit like Danny Gatton, and a bunch of other guitarists! And I am learning how he even worked with some of them. Sounds to me like he had the Suhr tuned all the way down to D for the first tune, but the Fender is in E-flat. Thus the swap.

Michael stands on his musical shoulders like most guitarists of the 70s. I can say with 100% certainty, a couple of generations of rock musicians stand on the shoulders of Jimi. No disrespect to Mike (and that wicked ass tone) but Jimi was a musical innovator and was a legend when Mike was just a kid.
