Why would anybody bash Nora? She was spectacular in that scene. I remember this like it was yesterday.

Why? Because she was so sanctimonious and self-righteous it was nauseating. Yes, she was outstanding in this scene as she was in many others, but for the most part I found her absolutely insufferable.

@@Marcus_1001 No doubt you also find any woman with such a strong conscience it wouldn't permit her to continue a lie to the end, to be nauseating and insufferable. What Nora did took incredible guts. She risked her career, her reputation, her entire professional life to do the right thing, because she was winning, and those sleazy felons were about to walk out of the courthouse as free men. Your disgusting rant about her "sanctimony and self-rightousness" revealed all there is to know about your own lack of decency, and your contempt for women. "Self righteous" because the notion of a pack of thugs gang raping a fragile, troubled young woman filled Nora with both horror and anger, the moment she was completely convinced they were as guilty as sin? Most women you know, if they had found themselves in Nora's shoes, would have felt the same way, unless they were devoid of a conscience. Your own words were, absolutely, as nauseating as it gets.

@fancifulfilly 0 seconds ago It left an unforgettable impression on me as well, so powerful that seeing this again after 30- years, only increased my appreciating of the outstanding writing and Hillary B. Smith''s 10-Emmy worthy performance . She had already made me love Nora, but after this I was in awe of her.
