Twice i came from Chicago-Area to Olympia the vertical seating level design that was Detroit at its finest ! Made 2 Friends Steve and Perry from London,Ontario,became close friend made it back to Detrot/Windsor and London,Ont. and Toronto because of our trips together,know Down town Detroit/Windsor so very well,The Rencen,Cobo Hall,Greektown,because of The Big Red Building,Joe Louis Arena,Hockeytown Cafe and now Little Caesars Arena,look forward to The Gordie Howe Bridge opening soon ! I owe it all to Olympia Stadium 5920 Grand River Ave @ McGraw ! I Love Detroit !

Oh do you remember a Red Wings vs Blackhawks Saturday Matinee game in 1972 a @ Guys naked Steaking event at Olympia ? I was there and Dennis Hull,Bobbys Brother scored the winning 2-1 score ! I was there.After Game went across to small grocery store to buy couple of six-packs Strohs Beer to take for the drive to WinSchullers in Marshall,Michigan,those were the days !

I really wished the new arena for the Red Wings and Pistons would have been designed to look like the Olympia. Instead, Little Ceasar's Arena looks like any generic looking arena that's commonly built nowadays.

I agree. The new stadiums are all like cookie cutters. You seen one you've basically seen 'em all. They don't have the character of the old barns.
