Hawtins Delicato is very nervous during the Winners Ceremony and Charlotte just had to let him keep moving....

Charlotte is such a good example of a perfect equestrian she was so calm and then instead of forcing him to stand still she had him do a piaffe to keep his mind off everything else, she’s the kinda people we need in the equestrian world

I think he was excited. They are living breathing animals who have their own minds. She is an excellent trainer. She handled it perfectly.

Well, Charlotte is also a class act. Loved the way she handled him. Loved the way she calmly put his needs first, and gave him a little work to use that energy while letting him do as she asked, rather than let him get away with being a little naughty - and yet did not force him to do something he was nervous about. She missed the pictures and ceremony yet still managed to be respectful to the other winners and judges.

Shes such a good horseman, like she retired valegro at the perfect timing, and now that they were there you could see that Valegro hasn’t been trained that hard, he got a well deserved retirement. Charlotte didn’t even force him to stand still, even tho they weren’t “supposed” to walk in circles. She understood valegro and just kept him calm, even tho they were walking around and valegro was a little unsure about his surroundings I think. This is proof why dressage isn’t abusive (Like Olympic, ik people can abuse at home and all, but you’ll never get far in dressage if you only rely on painful mechanisms😊)

I'm sorry but the outstanding ethics of one equestrian is not "proof" that dressage is not abusive. Every dicipline is abusive in the wrong hands and those wrong hands exist in every dicipline at every level.
@dinamarie8410

That’s exactly why I’m talking about the olympics and other successful riders and horses. Ik people abuse at home but that will completely ruin a horses self image and the horse will not be as good and as easy to ride. A horse with self image is a horse with potential. And riders can easily ruin that potential.

@@dinamarie8410 Oh, I got it. I'm sorry, I re-read that and I completely misunderstood the first time. I completely agree with you. I had a thoroughbred that I started myself for dressage and I gave him all my time and patience. When I was forced to sell him 12 years later (financial circumstances) I at least knew that somebody would value him because he was brought up and taught slow and correct from the beginning. Hurts a little less when you know you've set them up for success.

HAHAHAH YEAH IK WHY DID I EVEN WRITE THAT?! 😂 I meant that like valegro was retired at perfect timing and from like Facebook and Instagram you see clearly that he’s enjoying himself. And that she’s not forcing delicato to do anything and she’s really nice and calm with him.......... OMG I WAS TIRED YESTERDAY 😂😂

Oh I am so pleased to get to continue watching Charlotte's amazing journey. She's such an incredible rider, so light in the hands and sensitive to her horse's needs. Lovely to see her calmly deal with a little extra energy, what a great role model for all nervous equestrians out there showing hot horses 💕

Well done Charlotte, Carl, Alan and Delicato, as usual ;-) he is so young and it is great to see his progress. Did Charlotte take over the ride from Carl or was this just one show where they swapped? I thought normally Carl rides Delicato? Anyway, love them both. They are great ambassadors of the sport and train and treat their horses so well, they are real role models.

Great example of why a bit is cruel and unnecessary. Charlotte just calmed her horse from bit issues then guy holds onto bridle near mouth of horse which triggers the pain and horse begins to pull away. Make competition a 🚫No Bit Zone

I don't think it was the bit at all, and when used correctly there is nothing wrong with them! Lovely horse here was a bit squirelly and excited/nervous and didn't want to be handled from the ground, Charlotte did perfect by keeping him on the bit and giving him something to focus on! But I definitely think the option of no bits should be allowed in shows as well :) I personally ride with or without bits!

I cannot believe such an accomplished horsewoman as her lets her horse get away with the things he does. I am appalled at the behaviour this horse is exhibiting. Pawing, backing out of the bridle, etc. is blatantly disrespectful behaviour from a horse and pawing should absolutely never be tolerated.

He's a young horse in an overwhelming environment. He's not bei g dangerous or erratic. His behaviour is typical of a horse because they are FLIGHT animals. Get off your high horse.
@ellajohns245
@ellajohns245 5 жыл бұрын
@@Lilee177 he's a Grand Prix dressage horse. He's been competing for at least 8 years. He should be completely settled in to competing by now. There's also an enormous difference between disrespectful equine behaviour and flighty, spooky behaviour. It's obvious you know nothing about what you're talking about, so maybe you shouldn't try to butt in with your uneducated opinion, it just makes you look ridiculous.

Dude. Horses arent robots. They get nerves. Maybe it was really loud. Usually horses calm down when theyre given direction which is what shes doing. They focus on the rider rather than whats troubling them.
@ellajohns245
@ellajohns245 5 жыл бұрын
@@RoanAndRoaming this has nothing to do with horses being "robots". Any half educated rider knows this is BLATANTLY disrespectful behaviour that only comes from a horse that hasn't been taught correct manners on the ground. It's not about micromanaging the horse, it's not about treating them like a machine. It's about manners and putting the horse in their place, as they are large, dangerous animals and should have respect for you or you could get badly hurt, which Charlotte very well might if she allows this behaviour to continue. I seriously hope you're someone who isn't around horses, because your mindset is extremely ignorant and very dangerous for you.

@@ellajohns245 I saddle trained a 4 year old QH 😂 in a rope halter. This isnt reckless behavior. This is nervous behavior. Theres a HUGE difference between agression and anxious. My horse is an anxious horse. She would paw constantly and everywhere. All i did to fix it was leave her alone. She got more confident and it dissolved. Dangerous behavior is spinning the butt, kicking, rearing, bolting and biting.
