Jonas stop saying "I weigh twice as much!" because you also have twice as much MUSCULAR STRENGTH to lift that weight. She couldn't bench press as much as you can because her muscles aren't as strong as yours. She can't lift a couch, and you probably could. This competition was measuring fitness, and face it....she's a BEAST. But you married her, so you win too!

i weigh 90 kilograms, in which 40 of those are muscular weight but i have no strength cause im fat and out of shape he does weigh twice as much as she does, and he has a lot of muscle in his arms, but so does she! she has a lot of strength too! you have to be in very good strength condition to actually lift yourself if you weight 90 kilos (he's 99kgs) and you can easily lift yourself even if you have no strength if you weigh 50 kilos...
@tuoshiwan5046
@tuoshiwan5046 3 жыл бұрын
muscle and weight aren't directly proportional. Weighing twice as much does not mean you have twice as much muscle even for someone thats fit, since theres things like bone structure, essential fats, etc. As far as I know yeah, if you weigh twice as much you will have a harder time.

@celebrim1 3 жыл бұрын
Weight goes up by the cube of size. Strength goes up by the square of size. The bigger you are, the less strength to weight ratio you are going to inevitably have by basic geometry. Which is why gymnasts and dancers are usually small, and track and field athletes are usually very thin and light.

I may not be McKayla, but you should try a "hairagami" bun maker. Not the generic ones, they're shorter in length, and don't hold as tightly. Ypu can get them on Amazon, Ebay, and most dance supply stores. You just have to adjust how close to your scalp you are when you begin rolling it to make a tighter/looser bun, and if you wrap a scrunchie or wrap band around the bun once it's finished, it won't go anywhere. There are many KZbin videos that will show you how to use it. I have long fine hair (but a LOT of it, so it's heavy) and it holds my hair well. Another thing to try is the silicone ponytail holders. My niece used them when she played basketball for years, when nothing else would stay in place to keep her hair back. Good luck!

Points for MyKayla ! She kept her elbows in and went all the way down on her push ups ! That makes them way harder !

Great video, the two of you are really funny and adorable together; that was a solid win for MyKayla. But I would like to give some context on her win, just some info. Those who work with weights in the gym, like Jonas, train for Absolute Strength where one produces max force to move external weights. But gymnasts and bodyweight athletes, like MyKayla, work primarily towards Relative Strength or the amount of force you can produce in relation to your bodyweight. So in this challenge, as strong and muscular as Jonas was, it was obvious that he wasn't going to win, with his massive frame and bodyweight. Of course, the situation would be completely reversed if this were a gym challenge and they were lifting weights. As much as I enjoyed the video, this comment isn't to take away from MyKayla's win; its to share some info I thought would be helpful to everyone.

Great job guys. I like how you guys are both competitive and had fun doing the competition. Jonas, I think she would beat almost all man and woman because she is a beast and Olympian.

We now know you have the superior power to weight ratio though Jonas is also clearly athletic. What I see is that ‘it’ factor. You are having fun but that determination and competiveness is clearly there. The mental toughness to push through pain is what separates you from regular dudes like me. Impressive!

The rope climb was INSANE. ( To me - an out of shape middle aged man ) She kept her legs on a flat plane the whole time and was half way down when he was at the top. Her "edge" is that she is right around 100 pounds - but strong at the same time. Not much mass to lift with available muscle power.

Question: I'm trying to learn a planche pushup. When I lean forward, my head touches the floor. WHY? Don't say my brainpan is filled with lead my friends already told me that. Advice for Jonas:1.) Put your top knuckles vertical on the bar & roll your shoulder for a pullup. 2.) for a rope climb put your non dominant hand at your forehead your opposite at your chin & pull then switch. Finally a comment: HA! This was funny.

Jonas be delusional if he actually thought he would win a fitness challenge against an elite gymnast 🤣 Gymnastics is so hard, I'm no where near the level MyKayla is at and I and most other gymnasts would beat him. Conditioning plus training is no joke. Gymnastics looks way easier than it is. Funny video. You gave him a tiny ray of hope at the beginning and then kicked his butt on everything else which is even funnier.

It is hard for anyone to compete with an olympic or "pro" athlete whose life is training for the dream. Also, Ms. Skinner is far tinier and probably has better muscle mass because she is so small while he is huge. i wonder what Jonah does for a living. Here is hoping Mikayla enjoys her olympic experience. I was cheering for her. I think she was a bit unlucky not to be put on the US team because they are essentially guaranteed a gold medal or the very worst a medal of some sort. Grace is so so lucky as it could have gone either way between them Kind of unfair that Gracie is guaranteed essentially a medal and Mikayla already just missed the last olympics. The so close competitor The Susan Lucci of gymnastics. Wishing her well.
