After hiking 2.5 miles distance on the Olympic Discovery Trail Adventure Route, on the way back we encountered a woman mountain biker, a woman dog walker, both by themselves, and several migrant workers harvesting and skillfully bundling large amounts of salal in the woods along the trail. Salal is valued all over the world for use in wreathes and arrangements.
