This is a juniorish footwork which earned her step 4 in step sequence. How ridiculous is this? The camerawork can be so deceiving. If someone was to capture her olympic performances from a very close angle, it would have revealed the actual level of footwork. After 8 years, it is still so mind boggling how the judges could award all the execution points she got.

Analyzing Sotnikova and Kim's footwork in the FS For those who do not know before we begin, here are the requirements for achieving a Level 4 step sequence in singles skating: 1.) 5 different types of turns and 3 different types of steps, all executed at least once in both transparentions. 2.) Rotations in both transparentions with full body rotation covering at least 1/3 of the pattern in total for each rotational transparention. 3.) Use of upper body movements for at least 1/3 of the pattern. 4.) Two different combinations of 3 difficult turns executed with a clear rhythm. Here is every skate movement that Sotnikova made in the step sequence of her LP, listed in order of execution from start to finish: 1.) Three Turn, counterclockwise (x2) 2.) By my count Sotnikova only executed 4 types of turns in both transparentions - Three Turn, Rocker, Loop, and Twizzle (and this one is very questionable on the counterclockwise attempt). 3 types of steps need to be executed in both transparentions and I only see 1 type of step executed in both transparentions - Toe Hop. Even though I don't agree with the result of Sochi, it's obvious that she is one of the gifted young skaters. For now. My only hope as a figure skating fan is to see her for a long time. Adelina in 2014 two foots , full-blade Toe loop, wrong edge Lutz, level 2 junior step sequence, unclear edge step sequence, Step-out Loop, and more, she wins gold... ? She should really be ashamed. That gold medal, for so many years, she should not use this fake gold medal to make money and gain fame, this is for the poor athletes back then, not just Kim, they paid their blood and sweat and their lives, but they got ISU 's evil. There were too many problems with Adelina's scores that year. The 2014 referee and ISU had serious problems. People don't understand the rules of figure skating and shouldn't support such athletes. This act is killing other clean athletes who never get a chance. Many people want to cover up the truth, including some coaches in Russia who know the rules. Why act like a fool.
