Now that the rule change requires that the torso must cross the line first in close photo finishes, had that been the case then Merlene Ottey would have been the Gold medal winner, because clearly you can see that in spite of Gail Devers head dipping and right leg hitting the line, it was Ottey's torso that crossed first.

It was the torso that determined race winners then, too. It's never not been based upon torso placement. The measurement was not based on Devers' head dip, but when her torso ALSO crossed the finish line. And..."clearly" is not a term that could be used as to how obvious it was who won and who didn't. Not in this race. I get that you're an Ottey fan...but at least don't use false narratives as support for your perspectives. Already too much of that happens on KZbin.

The rule was that whoever torso passed the line first one. Ottey's torso was over the line first, but Gail's head was in front. The head is not part of the torso that's why most ppl thought Ottey was robbed.
