What an amazing special edition! I'm really envy the olympic athletes for having this exclusive phone! Also it's been a really good marketing campaign as lots of Z phones were seen a lot on the podiums taking photos and having french as default language is really nice. 😀

I've been thinking about buying a foldable and am too scared about it breaking. Are there poeple out there who have flips and folds and use them with great care and do they last for 2-3 years?

Yeah, use phone accessories, such screen protector, phone case, etc... it's actually how you handle your phone.

my parents have been using the fold 3 for multiple years now (i believe since around the time it came out so 2-3 years) and i have dropped my dad's phone (by accident) and it didn't break or get damaged at all. the only thing that did happen was when my mom cracked the top right of her front screen on like a sharp edge and then went to seaworld with it, got water on the crack and now that top right bit is black and she can't use that part of the screen. her camera was foggy for a few days but the rest of the screen works fine and the inside screen wasn't damaged at all. my mom has dropped her phone a few other times but it's still fine (as long as you don't count the top right black not-working portion of the smaller screen) so i'd rate it a 10/10, lasted/still lasting 2-3 years.

I've had my Fip 4 over 1.5 years and I wear the Samsung Silicone case. I love it. I make sure to hold my phone with the ring on the Samsung case, just for added assurance that I don't drop it.

I currently have the thom browne flip 3, had the fold 4, currently have the fold 5, and just ordered a sealed Olympic flip 6 on ebay. I have had zero issues with the fold 4 and fold 5 while with the flip 3 I did run into an issue where the screen would turn black sometimes randomly even though it was still responsive to touch. The is only possible causes for it is either the fact I put a secondary screen protector on top of the installed screen protector which could have possibly led to pulling on the hinge leading to the phone not being able to correctly tell if the phone was open or closed or it the connector that controls that function is loose. I read on a forum that the connector is situated behind the center where it folds which can lead to that but I cannot confirm that, I never got it fixed since it no longer is my daily driver and the issue stops if I press on the center so it likely is one of those two reasons. Whether the flip 6 has the same setup I can't say but from what I've its durability is superior to the previous models but the phone also has only been out for about a 3 weeks.

@@kamikazehound3243 I've heard applying any other screen protectors on the inner screen is not necessary, in fact it may be harmful. That said, I'm almost certain I'll go back to Android from iPhone and a Flip 6 myself.

The display on my Flip 6 is already coming up and cracking and popping when opened and closing the phone it also pushes in when applying light pressure to scroll like scrolling pressure makes the display pop in and out crazy horrible build quality on the flip 6 compared to the Flip 5

I’ve never understood why people buy limited edition phones, especially when they’re more expensive than the standard version. The features are almost identical, and the unique software design can easily be replicated on a regular phone. I get the appeal of limited edition watches, but for a phone? As long as it works as a communication device, that’s all that really matters. Invest your extra money and stop throwing money around!
