I actually came from a Z flip 4, and the difference is slightly less than *_massive._* I freaking love this design! And I pulled the trigger on the crafted black version, because it's the only design that appealed to me out of all the colors they have available.

That middle crack screen is my concern too about long term use. I still use s10+, still work really well. But i can feel samsung tried to slowed down old phone. I want to upgrade to this for personal use and buy other phone for gaming, shopping etc

My Z flip 3 is 4 years old and works fantastic. No real issues except for one small black area. It's just a small hump next to the volume button. Other than that, it's a great phone after 4 years. I'm getting a Zflip 6 tomorrow (my wife bought me one). I'll use it, but if it has issues, I'll just go back to the z flip 3. These phones are great. The flip series is nice for me as a runner. It fits in my runner belt and leaves room for things like keys or salt packets.

Battery is just fine. To prolong longer need to toggle into battery saver and etc to achieve whole day battery. Wish more options in good lock option especially rotate screen at cover screen.

I had the Flip 5 and went back to a slab recently. The screen protector on the Flip 5 started bubbling up and I just got annoyed by that. I also got tired of always having to open the phone to do things. The cover screen is kind of meh... It isn't really big enough to do much. Now I have a base level S24 and I love it. I got $400 by trading in the Flip 5, so the S24 was only $383. Not too bad.

In order to use the power button to power off your phone, you have to change it in your settings from bixby to power. Also, the phone can randomly turn off and back on to preserve battery life that may be whats happening when you're screen's going black

I kind of have the black screen issue too but to a lesser degree. When I first wake up and check my cover screen for the time and notifs sometimes it'll just stay black. Then I have to try and turn it on like 10 times until it will finally respond. I don't know why it happens, I used to think maybe because the phone is off so long when I'm sleeping? Maybe not true if you're having the same issue during the day though. But it's not that cumbersome for me it doesn't happen evey morning and it starts working again within a minute.

I've had my clip 6 since early August. I've had almost no issues with it except that my edge lighting won't work for text notifications, although it used to. Out of nowhere, it just stopped. But it will work for other notifications strangely enough 😒

I went from the Flip 4 to 6 and the 6 feels less durable. I dropped my 4 often with no problems, dropped my 6 once and screen got damaged. The power button feels looser (before the drop), the screen sometimes unresponsive (before the drop), and the halves were misaligned. Samsung gave me a new one free that wasn't misaligned but power button still kinda loose but then I dropped it, luckily I had Care+ so fixing the screen is cheaper. Also hate some of the software changes for example, you used to be able to slide your finger up and down the power button so the quick panel drops down or goes back up, on the 6 this feature is gone.

I've had glitches two months a go, then a complete black main screen after. Dropped it the phone at samsung center since it was on warranty and picked it up 3 weeks later. They completely changed the hinge mechanism and the screen. I also discovered that the screen is on a two years warranty and one year for the hinge mechanism. Other then that, it's been flawless since picking it up from the samsung center. Having this issues sucks but, knowing it's one of the early unites, it's seems normal to have this type of issues. Hope it don't come up again.

I've had it since launch, never had a glitch, black out or unresponse. Re the overheating, on normal use no, but when I use the qi charger in my car, it heats up uncomfortably.

Been using flip 6 for about 3 months and had the main internal screen flashing and went black for no reason. Only the front display worked. Brought it to samsung service centre and realised another user beside me had the same model and exact same issue..😒 they just replaced the lcd screen and the flexible cable... gonna see how long will it last this time..

Here is my testimony: Only issues with software that I have had is this weird invisible window that pops up when using android auto and an occasional half a second delay for the phone to turn on when i press the lock button But nothing super uncommon to typical Android glitches. Also been rocking it case-less since august and have dropped it 3 times on surfaces that made me cringe without anything other than a minor nick in the frame.

Honestly if you don't wanna take a risk of your phone dying on you randomly, go for the iPhone. If you can afford to take a little risk, go for the flip. The flip is so fucking good. I kept my old phone in case the flip died, thankfully it hasn't died and seems to be working fine.

Just a heads up, flip phones can drop in price significantly after only a year. I think they sold it because they weren’t confident that the device would last until next year, so I don’t think it will last for 5 years, but it will definitely do a good 2-3 years as the luck you need to get a good flip phone is less slimmer than the brick ones. as long as you dont get physical damage it will be fine. you just need to change its protective film from time to time

I bought the rarz 2024 , I was very excited to have it because I prefer its design and better battery than Samsung Flip. But then I have to return the Rarz 2024 because the camera is not good as advertised, 50 Mp is not good enough to take great pictures. Camera is very important to me so I have to return even though I love my Rarz 2024 so much

@anniele994 yeah I would say if cameras the most important thing to you. I definitely go with something other than the razor 2023 or 2024. I'm not sure if you really want to stay with a flip phone or or if you're willing to use a candy bar style device. but I would highly recommend the pixel 9 pro. I upgraded from the pixel 8 Pro to the 9 pro XL I want a picture of my Pro but I already had to wait another 8 weeks so I went with the 9 XL and believe me when I tell you there's something about this device that's special! I have quite a few phones in my arsenal from flagships to mid rangers to budget phones and the pixel 9 pro XL is the first phone I grab in the morning. Amazing camera great software experience and battery life is outstanding.better than my Samsung S24 Plus.

Yes I had this as part of my black inner screen too. Most of the time black. A couple of times grainy pink, bluish. This is a known manufacturing defect I've read involves something called the digitizer. Regardless you'll have to have it repaired/replaced by Ssung. Ugh...

4 months in and I have the black screen of death. Never buy a new phone without insurance because the manufacturer warranty will want to you send in the phone to fix it and wipe your whole phone bc you won't be able to put it in maintenance mode

Lots of "this phone is great" stuff here but I'm glad there are some comments like yours as well. I had my inner screen go bad too. This is a known. manufacturing defect involving the phones digitizer and plenty of buyers are affected. You're maintenance mode comment really grabbed me. MM is totally worthless if your screen doesn't work. Kind of amazing Samsung doesn't have an easy, understandable workaround. I just mailed mine to SS under warranty. Very frustrating after only 3 mos. of babying phone

It's a manufacturing defect Ive heard involves the phone's digitizer. You'll have to have SS repair/replace involving hassle of backing up. Mtce Mode when mailing would help but is useless when you can't use inner screen. Maybe you'll be lucky and SS will refer you to a local uBreakifix place that can actually fix the phone. 3 local ubreak places I tried (1 referred to me by SS) couldn't do anything (understaffed/not trained?!!). Bad experience so far with this phone)

Look! I get "new" technology is great and all BUT, this "foldable" tech is NEW and NOT without its flaws! It's rather FRAGILE in comparison to a SLAB phone and can damaged SO easily it's NOT even funny! A PLASTIC foldable screen would be absolutely destroyed in LESS a week in my "daily" day-to-day usage not to mention the dust/dirt environment. FACT. They are NOT for everyone! A fingernail will permanently MAR the screen and leave a lasting mark, NOT to mention the "FOLD" area. I'll stick to my SLAB phone for now....

As a former owner of the Flip 5, I couldn't agree with you more. I went back to a slab with the S24 because the screen protector bubbled up on my Flip 5. I also think the cover screen on the Flip is too small to really do anything with. I always ended up opening the dang phone to do stuff. It feels good to be back on a slab.
