Granted he solidified his position by further taking the back and retaining it. Otherwise he just sat there for 8 seconds, the same amount of time it takes her to submit him from a dominant position. After they called it he rolled off dead, so he couldn't do anything with the position even if he tried. I don't understand how anyone can be dumb enough to not follow such simple logic. Judo isn't boxing, where upper body strength matters more. Size difference certianly gives you an advantage in Judo, but center of gravity IS an area girls have an edge on which can make up for the size. And yeah she's more advance then him, but still

Center or gravity is an extremely low point of advantage compared to all other attributes and men still how stronger muscles everywhere on their body on average there is not a single muscle that women are stronger in on average so there’s rlly no excuse for having a weak lower body compared to the girl. He’s not particularly muscular and strong or explosive/powerful just an average dude.
@BW022
@BW022 2 жыл бұрын
Upper-body strength is huge in Judo. The here issue is you have a white belt (typically less than 6 months training) fighting a black belt (at least 8+ years of experience). There is no hope for the white belt. He doesn't know anything other than tying his belt, basic break falls, and maybe 5-6 moves. White belts can't typically compete in tournaments, are typically forbidden to use or be subjected to submissions, etc. He really had no hope. It's like someone who can't stake playing hockey or just a big guy playing rugby without really knowing the rules, strategies, etc.

I have short experince is greco roman mat wrestling with hip throws and body locks pretty basic strength based moves. Strength rlly matters more than the body size so its irrelevant what size woman Im fighting if shes much weaker than me but extremely experienced in judo itll be a decent fight. Shell win in the end catching me in something that I have no idea how to defend which is to be expected. Funny story tho I lost to my 50 something year old aunt in a friendly joking match of kenpo karate shes very experienced and in karate I cant use most of my strengths much more skill reliant and if you dont have skill your done. What happened is horrible and humiliating to say the least. Ended up in a very odd position with her smelly feet smothering my face forcing me to smell them while she laughed uncontrollably. We laughed it off and it was rlly fun. I wanted revenge so I beat her in wrestling pretty easily she put up a good fight but afterward while I was getting up from my knees she sneak attacked me in put me back in that position. I cant win.

@@nickcollins9170 I did judo half my life. National level at my peek. White belt vs. black belt overcomes almost any size or weight difference. Imagine someone who is super-fit but who has never played soccer facing a 14 year-old kid who excels at it. This guy almost certainly is stronger than her, certainly upper body. It just doesn't matter. You need a minimum amount of skill to defend yourself or make any use of that strength. In my day, I was a little guy under 150lbs. There was 190lb guy at my school who joined my dojo but was a yellow belt so not in my class (blue belt at the time). He was badmouthing me at school saying no one my size could do anything on the mat. I showed up early, asked our coach for a minute with the guy, and it was beyond easy. I could throw, sweep, pin, choke, or armlock him at will. I could literally prevent him from getting a grip. The only challenge was protecting his head each time I threw him. White, yellow, and even orange belts simply don't have enough skill or practice to avoid these. Whites might not even know how to fall.

@@BW022 Yeah I mean if its a high level black belt vs a noob then yeah. I beat my friend whos a bjj purple belt similar weight but no where near as strong. It was close and he got me in a bunch of weird positions but I was able to counter and use my strength. With limited mat wrestling experience you could see I didn't know very much what I was doing and he exposed that but I was able to get a sloppy looking win. I had a girlfriend who Im still in contact with who excelled in Krav maga and she would kick my ass it was awesome. Standard rules mat wrestling I won (carpet wrestling) lol. But it would always be fun when she wanted to play using strictly KM techniques shed toy with me like a baby Idk I found it very enjoyable and ended in alot of smiles and laughs. I think if I lost in standard wrestling and got thrown around that would hurt my ego but thats pretty few and far between. No smaller weaker person is rlly gonna throw me around in wrestling. Meaning just flat out out strength me. Losing to a girl with superior technique has never been something I mind its pretty cool tbh. I signed up for krav maga gym and my 59 year old woman instrutor yes 59 kicked my ass she actually said she saw great potential lmao. Im very close to being to hold my own with her now but not quite.

Just so that everyone who doesn't do either Judo (traditional or Olympic) or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu AKA: BJJ (casual or competitive) This guy is a BRAND new white belt, no I do not know this man, but I see that he's not even an amateur at grappling as a whole, he didn't even attempt to pass guard, he just walking into her closed guard like a literal goon. Any older white belt would mop the floor with this guy all the same, just not in the same fashion. And keep in mind, any white belt in either sport that has had about 6 months of either will destroy you and your complete lack of grappling experience. Doubt me? Go to a BJJ or Judo gym and ask to spar with a white belt that has been practicing at minimum 6 months. Is this impressive to me? Not at this point in my Jiu-jitsu career. But I'll tell you what, this is a real match, and yes, she is holding back. She IS an Olympic competitor after all. And to those ignorant to say: "But he should have crushed her, he's bigger, and stronger, longer arms.." if this was boxing/ MMA I would agree with you, and the female judo practitioner here (if she was being honest/realistic) she would agree with you too. But there's something you fellas need to understand: This is technique based grappling, and not strength based wrestling. I repeat: THIS IS NOT STRENGTH BASED WRESTLING. Watch the moment he tried to use strength, he was put into an armbar shortly afterward. So to those of you that think they can grapple against her, fat chance since grappling is almost exclusively skill.
@powergaminggg8730
@powergaminggg8730 4 жыл бұрын
People who have not practiced don't understand. While strength helps it's not as much, unless overwhelming. If she try to grapple some 140-150 kilos very fit man it would be hardly moved, but the same would be for black belt man if they were in her weight category. But the moment an opponent is not physically able to lift you with one arm - technique is much more important. Actually you are wrong in therms of Boxing and other striking sports - an Olympic level practitioner versus complete beginner would also beat him easily, such a size difference is also not such of a disadvantage. Also a lot of people overestimate the difference in strength between males and females on high competitive levels. I mean - of course male have advantage, but it's not so big as some people claim it to be. I know that I can beat any professional level of fighter if he is few weight class below me or women but I have nearly 15 years of practice behind me and know how to use my advantage. If I have no advantage, I will be screwed big time. People without experience usually tend to have completely bad understanding of most topics - the so famous Dunning Kruger Effect.

@@powergaminggg8730 Yeah, no it sounds like you don't box. I referenced boxing because if these two were to box or mix striking instead of grapple the results would be massively different purely based on the fact that he has the ability to knock her out in one punch where as she really (and I mean really) has to work for it and hope she doesn't mess up. Grappling is an entirely different beast. Even a champion at womens boxing sitting at 5'6 is going to have very massive problems trying to box a welter weight male who never touched a striking sport. Based on both his strength when it comes to punching and his ability to take hits. This isn't mentioning reach along with other factors. The same goes for MMA as long as she can still avoid strikes while grappling (which is a solid maybe, but I doubt she can dodge forever). The man just need to keep distance (which is easy since he has more powerful legs and he's bigger) and land good solid strikes and win, this is also assuming he doesn't literally slam her and break her with that solitary slam. No, even a trained female boxer can only really buy time with her training against any man that really dedicated.
@DeathxThexKid100
@DeathxThexKid100 4 жыл бұрын
And I still haven't gotten into he finer nuances of striking vs grappling. The idea that a female judo practitioner can win against a man isn't farfetched. Why? The techniques that are used follow a simple formula (which I won't get into) but the submissions I will get into. In order to finish the arm bar one of your legs needs to go over your opponents head holding the rest of his body down and (this is also assuming you have his arm as well) with his arm square up your hips to the side of his body and keep your hips at his elbow joint then stretch out your body extending his arm. The once his arm is extended drill your hips into his elbow to hyperextend your opponents arm or he taps. Now look at the nuances of striking. The ideas in jiu-jitsu work because it's a similar principle as to how the police apprehend an unruly suspect: multiple officers bring the suspect down and hold him there while other officers do the same but isolate the suspects limbs then come the handcuffs. Striking vs grappling still has nuances that I haven't even touched. But again female judo competitor vs man? Yes it works out in her favor like we see in the video. World competitor striker vs welterweight man with no experience? She'd better hope to god he needs glasses or that she wins. And even if she wins she's going to be in a LOT of pain. Still don't believe me? Try watching SAPP VS NOGUEIRA then watch the Joe Rogan podcast clip of them both talking about it.

@@DeathxThexKid100 Will try to reply here for both of yours. Thanks for your time. I know that in any martial art sparring there is always the chance of losing against someone, even if he is less skilled or athletic than you, yet what I was referring was that Olympic level athlete facing complete newbie (this guy look as one) who doesn't know how to use his body will lose probably 9 out of 10 times, and unless the physical strength is overwhelmingly in his favor (talking for something like 150 kilos versus 50 kilos experienced/black belt etc.), physical strength won't matter. I have little experience in boxing, just 2 years of Muay Thai, but more then 10 years of practicing other striking sports, and the thing you are missing is how bad a complete beginner can be. I've seen people who cannot use any footwork, not talking about fancy things, basic forward and backward moves in their first few months, their athleticism is on negative levels - a friend of mine was like that for around 2-3 months and despite him being 1,90 (6'2") and weighting around 80 kilos his moves and reaction seemed like a toddler - so any competitive female boxer would easily take care of him etc. You, like most people doing sports are severely underestimating the ability of some people to use their bodies if they have no interest in any sport at all, and some of the guys over the internet glorify 'strength' (which indeed play a good role in martial arts) much more then it deserves. I don't actually have a lot of grappling experience, just friendly wrestling with friends, some of which were national level champions in their weight category and watching some of them compete with bigger guys, for the laugh - all friendly and nothing serious. So despite me be a bit bigger (like 10 kilos above my friend) I couldn't do anything, but a much bigger guy, who had easily 60 kilos could take wins out of him, despite being far below his skill level. Talking about a weight of 70 vs 130 kilos (150 vs 286 lbs) and the smaller guy still take most of the wins, but approximately manage to get 40% of their fights based on his overwhelming weight and strength. The lighter guy said that a lot of the techniques just doesn't work with such a big difference in weight and the moment the bigger guy manage to get on top - he knew it was game-over and was maneuvering hard around him to not let him achieve that. Talking about Greco-Roman wrestling. My whole point was as such in short - strength is a big factor but it's also limited by the sport we're talking about and that to give you one-sided advantage when you have inferior skills have to be overwhelmingly bigger. And my second point was that doing sport and being in great condition (as the woman in the video) may make you much stronger then the average man (as the guy in the video looks like), that people overestimate the 'difference in strength between genders' when we put training behind it. Was not arguing with your first comment, and actually really strongly stand behind your words - that the guy in the video looks like a complete beginner and is not have any experience in grappling. And in striking - strength also is not a deciding factor, unless skill pass a certain limit - a point where you at least understand your advantage and despite the lack of technique can still get away with it. Which was my example of being comfortable to be able to compete with professional fighters if they have big disadvantage (weight/strength) wise, because I consider myself passing that threshold, unlike complete beginners, which in some cases don't even know how to use their body. There was a very interesting video in another utube channel named CLIMBER CHALLENGES MMA FIGHTER | #160, where it's clearly visible how a very strong and athletic man easily loses versus a good martial artist easily despite being much closer to him physically in contrast to the current video, where while the guy look bigger is (at least to my opinion) far below the girl in therms of physical prowess.

@@powergaminggg8730 try a channel called Hard2hurt and look up "striking vs grappling". There's something called "strikers chance". If you're a woman, don't try and box a man even if you think you can win. Again look at "nogueira vs sapp". Nogueira, despite winning by submission was hurting real bad after that match, and he was the guy grappling. Females in a sport that have any real understanding of thier capabilities know that at most they are buying time against a really dedicated man. I'm not doubting that a woman boxer is more technical than a man who doesn't practice is. But if she rolls into where he's throwing a haymaker (when we both know hay makers aren't technical nor useful under normal circumstances against legit boxers) then its lights out No matter how technical you are. theres always the punchers chance. Grappling isn't up to chance. Your friend getting squashed by that bigger friend wasn't using jiu-jitsu or judo he was using strength based grappling like high school wrestling. Anything done in jiu-jitsu is illegal in high school wrestling, but anything in high school wrestling is completely legal in jiu-jitsu, but high school wrestling loses in the long run to jiu-jitsu. Grappling isn't up to chance it's up to whose bigger under non technical circumstances. Under the context of a jiu-jitsu practitioner it isn't over when your on the bottom, it's about the submission. And submissions can be done from closed guard (which is a bottom position, not a losing one). Anyone can punch, punch well isn't the question, "are you knocked out" is. Not everyone can grapple, unless you get the proper training.

I think you guys are missing the point. "A person that trains and masters Judo, is better off than a bigger/stronger person that doesn't." We all know the result if a male of the same skill showed up. In my mind it's not so much about "girl power" as it is to say: *"If a guy grabs you when you aren't interested, you have a better chance of stopping him."* Is that fool proof? No, there is a size cutoff for how she's performing her techniques, but it will suffice against the cowards who can't keep thier hands to themselves.
