Triple - I actually hope Zango gets 18m, but I'll take anyone if all 3 medals are 18+ meters - Women, I hope Bekh-Romanchik but Thea is realistic. Long - Mihambo all the way, Woody 2nd - Tentu for the men, he is just SO consistent. 110h - Holloway sure, and great pick with Simoncelli for 2nd! - 100h my is Kendra out so JCQ over Tobi this time, but my underdog heart would say Visser for Bronze! Shot - Still think Crouser will come back and show em whose GOAT :)

Very good picks, I agree with most of them I will list the ones I have as different. mens 100m Thompson 1st womens 200m Thomas 2nd Alfred 3rd mens 400m Rai 1st mens 400m Doom 1st long jump Tentoglou 3rd Ehammer 2nd I really discount all the jumps from Rome this year like Tentoglous 8.65s , everyone jumped 20-30cm more than they usually do, same reason I agree with Tamara winning the womens long jump as she is the only one over 7m if you discount Rome (I think?) I doubt any of the triple jumpers get near 17.8 let alone 18m That being said if I was a bookie I would have Tentoglou winning by 1cm or by countback the odds on most likely thing to happen because it does so often. Furlani for me is the more talented jumper and I hope he goes over 8.7m Long jump is bound to be spoiled by fouls, when will they change the measuring system and allow it to be the longest jump rather than who can jump nearest the board.. I pick Doom to win the 400m because he has shown no weakness at all going through qualifying rounds he just gets faster, I think Hudson Smith goes faster in the semi finals and misses the gold by a tenth

I’m not gonna do a whole list of predictions this year but I’ll say what I do and don’t agree on lol. Long jumps I’d just switch Tentóglou with Furlani, triple jumps I’d switch Hibbert in to 3rd and move the other 2 up, 100 I’m favouring Kishane over Lyles but I wouldn’t be surprised if Lyles won, 200 I’d switch Asher-Smith out for Alfred (even though I’m British 😥), 400 I’ve got Hall 2nd instead of Norman purely based on times, as well as Gardiner instead of Doom (not sure what form he’s in though) and I’d switch Kaczmarek in for Adeleke (Paulino still 3rd). That’s everything for both genders as I pretty much agree with everything else (at least as much as you can with predictions). Anyway, no pole vault?! Doesn’t really matter though, Mondo gold (wr) and Caudery gold for GBR (hopefully!) and no one else matters because that’s what’s gonna happen lmao. I care more about middle distance than sprints, but I'm invested in the HJ. On the men's side I think it will be Tamberi/Kerr Gold/Silver and McEwen Bronze. Women's I have Mahuchich, Olyslagers then Topic. I didn't think JuVaugh Harrison qualified in HJ for the US this time but I've just checked and he's on the list. I don't expect Juvaugn, Bashim or Woo from S Korea to medal, none of them have been jumping well and I suspect Bashim pulled out of the recent DL due to injury issues rather than the run up area being inadequate. Lyles is by no means running under 19.3 at the Olympics. I’d be surprised if he runs under 19.4. His focus on the 100 has taken away from his 200 meter and it shows.
@JumpmanTF2 ай бұрын
Id never think the 100 focus would take from his 200 tbh. But will see.
@Ekzotika-g8w2 ай бұрын
@@JumpmanTF I think part of what has made his speed maintenance so good in the past was his really lean built and generally lighter frame. The reason he’s gotten better at the 100 is because his start and drive phases have improved substantially, but this has required focusing on explosiveness in training and taking away from his longer sprint disciplines. His base speed maintenance has definitely not improved and more than likely is a little bit weaker now that he’s focused his training on his start and drive phase in shorter sprints. I’d say he’s still the cream of the crop when it comes to the 200 because of his experience, but I think there are runners who at this point have faster potentials over the 200 come the Olympics. At the Olympic trials he had to give a lot to overtake Bednarek and his turn over didn’t look as good in the final 60m as in 2022. I think at the Olympics he can’t risk being that far back on the field because it’s not guaranteed that he’ll be able to climb his way back up when everyone is at their peak.

It's not likely that a bunch of track records will be broken apart from in the Mens 800m, and maybe in the mens 1500m, where I expect to see very fast times in the SF and Finals from everyone racing and mayhem on the track. Lyles will not break 9.8. He's never run faster than the London DL and his time is only a small improvement, down from 9.84 I think, to what he ran in the world champs last year. That's not a record breaker in the making. Maybe someone like Tebogo or Kishane Thompson having a dream run. Lyles might win in the 200m but my sentimental favourite is Kung Fu Kenny or Degrasse coming out of nowhere again. I agree Knighton is not a threat to anyone. Neither SML nor Bol will break the 400mh WR, Bol because her legs will be tired from all the racing, and SML has never run fast outside Eugene and only brought down her WR by 0.03 seconds over two years. If by some chance it's broken it will be by 0.03 or some piddly amount again, neither will drop .5 seconds to go below 50 seconds. Your call for the women's sprints and men's hurdles sounds about right. I think Hibbert might win the triple too. Bekh-Romanchuk is so good, if she's back to full strength I expect her to win or at least medal. I disagree on the men's LJ, it's been a long time since Tentoglou lost a major competition and I think he has the edge. I think Mihambo has the edge over Tara, but how good would it be to see Ivana Spanovic medal or even win what is likely to be her final comp.

@@JumpmanTF What I find really interesting is why we like/dislike specific sportsmen/women. Sometimes it's quite obvious, personality can play a big part, it could be the way they perform in terms of style, flair or just amazing results. Other times it's a lot less obvious. I seem to favour younger athletes who show amazing potential. I also have the favouring the underdog thing going on and I can't deny that physical attraction seems to play a part where some of the women are concerned. That said, there are numerous athletes that I like or dislike and I have no idea why. If you look at my picks for the men's high jump. In terms of flair, style and personality I should have picked Temberi for Gold. In terms of the young athlete with potential, I should have picked Harrison and yet I would still like to see Barshim win. There are some athletes that I'm happy to see win over and over again and totally dominate their sport/event. There are other dominant athletes that I still like, but I'd rather see someone else get the Gold to increase the rivalry and competition between them. For example, I think Sydney is amazing, possibly the most amazing athlete I will see in my lifetime, but I want Bol to get Gold, not because I dislike Sydney, just because I like Bol as well and want the two of them to push each other to new heights.

Women's Vault will be very exciting. McCartney, Kennedy, Moon, and Caudery are all fairly equal picks to win gold. If conditions are favorable and all are healthy and in form, I give a slight edge to Eliza McCartney. Her speed, length and technical prowess is a hard package to ignore. She also does a great job channeling positive energy. Find a video of Muhuchikh jumping 2.03 and compare it to her WW jump. THAT'S what positive energy can do.

@weljenks2 ай бұрын
Because she doesn't run indoors which is fool's gold compared to outdoors and doesn't like flying half a world away to run a bunch of meets in Europe. She's ran about as many outdoor events as Bol this year and was injured last season. Bol lives in Europe so it's easy for her to run a bunch of DLs. Straight bias BS. Sydney STOMPS her ass with a sub 50 and it will look like 2022.
