UGGGGHhhh, this was an awful video editing experience. I don't have my normal computer with me, so I was forced to use an in-browser editor on a severely underpowered laptop to (try and) cut this together. I couldn't even see where I was making trims & edits most of the time, so it's filled with bloopers, double takes, and some random freezes from the rendering process. But I wanted to show you all a bit of what it's like here at the Beijing 2022 Olympics, so here it is, gaffes, glitches, and all.

The facilities provided in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olypic Village are amazing. It is sad that politics have denied China to really showcase how advanced now China is. The jealousy of China's rise by the West is very stupid and disappointing.

Well calm down now. This is the way of Human progress. Each Olympic is supposed to be better than the last. Let's not be too proud/arrogant about these things especially by comparing to previous games. Each nation try their best for the sake of the Olympic ideal. China had staged some amazing games over the years. Well done to the organisers. It's a great feat and the effort really shows each time. But the glory and emotions are brought by the athletes. Of course people try to politicise the games each time. Those that truly believe in the Olympic ideals must be above that and not join in the tit for tat war of words in these related forums. Be better then them

I am so glad I found you here. You have done an excellent job in introducing the venues in the Olympic Village in details that no other American broadcast services has done so far. Everything you mentioned and showed are important part of the Olympic Village and I don't why the hell none of the media from the US has not done any of these? Isn't that their job to show viewers what China has done and prepared for the Olympics and for the athletes? What are they trying to hide from American people and people who watch American media? Is that too difficult to show the real situation in China? Anyway, I liked, shared and subscribe your channel. All my friends feel the same as I do about your vlog. Thanks again for a job well done and best of luck to your upcoming competition in Beijing Winter Olympics.

@@mz4420 I’m in Germany and watch local German media, but strangely, many of the Anti-China news or nagitive news about Beijing are very similar to the „official media“ of the United States. The German TV (zdf and Das Erste)hardly reported positive news about the Beijing Winter Olympics. I‘d like to know how athletes live in the Olympic Village and the construction of Beijing. Instead, the media prefer a lot of news that had nothing to do with the Winter Olympics.

When one says 'feel dangerous', most people in China first think of accidents not violent crimes, because in China violent crimes are very rare. It is different from America.

The film on the elevator panel should be used for epidemic prevention. When the epidemic was at its worst, the elevator film I was working on was convenient in the toilet every day, and it was disinfected every 2 hours a day.

Very nice vlog and thank you for sharing it. The plastic you tore off at 7:00 is used for protecting the facility. During the pandemic, the lift button is frequently touched by different people's hands, wiping alcohol multiple times directly on the control board will damage the electronic equipment; so, we usually cover it with a thin layer of plastic. But don't worry they will replace a new one.

omg, you're the flag-bearer who was shirtless in the dead of the Beijing winter for the opening ceremony!! I was watching it on Canada's CBC news channel, and the Canadian reporters even took a moment to worry about you lol. They were talking, talking, and the subject turned to how cold it was, and that they could no longer feel their own jackets, and then they were like: hey, I wonder how that shirtless flag-bearer is doing, is he ok? Did somebody check on him? XD Well, I too, hope you're ok and enjoying the games. Best of luck and best of fun to you!!

Thank you so much for the video! I was so sick of all the political comments from NBC when watching the opening ceremony. It’s sports, and it is a festival happens once in 4 years and you have to talk about politics as if you haven’t been talking about it every day. Big shout out for you! Btw you stand out in the opening ceremony!

In the year of 2015, the Beijing Winter Olympic Game was determined to be held on 4th Febuarary of 2022. There are two reasons for this date: 1) it's relatively cold in north China, the low temperature can keep the field at a good state; 2) it's the Chinese New Year, that's very lively, bustling, vibrant, and that's the best opportunity for the athletes to enjoy Chinese culture. The traditional Chinese New Year usually lasts 15 days, from the day of 'Spring Festival' to the day of 'Lantern's Day'. The athletes can go to the urban area to have fun with Chinese people to celebrate the Chinese New Year. Delicacy, handicrafts, folk show..., all funny stuff would be demonstrated in the 15 days!! Very exciting!! Of course, in the year of 2015 nobody can predict Covid-pandemic in 2020.
