It's also because Hinata is finally finding new ways to become a better player, and everyone on Karasuno are proud of him because of that.
@benbarcados33283 жыл бұрын
The scene where he said “gimme the next one too” was a big deal because Kageyama just messed up the set but Hinata managed to save it with his foot. Kageyama turned to him and expected him to complain but Hinata knew that Kageyama tried his best and just made a mistake on a difficult set so he basically said “As long as you give every set your all I am happy and give the next one to me!” The setter on the other team was moved because his passion for setting is as intense as Kageyama’s and this leads the setter to be frustrated when his teammates are not as passionate as he is. So seeing Hinata not only being as passionate as Kageyama but also recognizing and appreciating Kageyama’s passion moved the setter.

9:38 the reason everyone was shocked was because it was the match point at that moment and Hinatas team (karasuno) tried to rush getting the point. The coach tried yelling at them to slow down and take their time but they were so caught up in rushing and finishing the point that everyone couldn’t hear the coach. So when hinata received it and sent it up high it gave everyone time to breathe, relax, and do things the way they usually do. I think the moral of the moment is to not rush things because it can end badly.

It's sad to see Erik watch Hinata's best moments in s4 without context. Especially the "let's take it easy" moment. That scene hit me very hard.

The “let’s take it easy” moment was because the team was starting to rush everything so Hinata received the ball really high so they could reset and just take a breath

Yeah it's really hard to understand most of these clips without knowing the context of why they're important. The worst here is the clip of Hinata bumping the ball up really high. The scene right before that is actually really stunning. It's towards the end of the game, and Karasuno starts rushing. Their coach is yelling at them to slow down, but they're not listening. The way the scene is animated, and with the music, really illustrates the strangling feeling of going too fast to the point of making mistakes. Til Hinata slows everything down with his high bump, giving them all a moment to breathe and kind of reset. And Suga tearing up at Hinata's growth. It's a cool moment.

9:39 Hinata makes a high pass to slow down the speed of play because Karasuno was speeding up and losing their composure. It was surprising to everyone for Hinata to make an intelligent play. Also Kageyama was upset over a bad set he made that Hinata wasn't bothered by at 8:07
@RoyalsRP3 жыл бұрын
Season 4 spoiler explanation (for a scene that Erik was confused about): The scene at 9:37 is a powerful scene because they are in the final point at nationals, versus one of the best teams in all of Japan. Each player on the court is saying "Faster, we have to go faster!" because they think speed will be the key to winning the match. The coach on the sideline of that scene is SCREAMING at the team telling them to slow down, because although speed is a powerful weapon, they're strangling themselves. Hinata puts the ball up high, which forces the team to breathe and slow down. That's why Suga says he thinks he's going to cry - because Hinata has gone from knowing nothing about volleyball, to in just months making several plays that saved the team and ultimately won them the match. Haikyuu really is an amazing show, and all of season 4 especially really stepped up the game. Please watch Haikyuu in your free time if it sounds interesting to you at all. You won't regret it!

Some more context on Hinata: When he was in middle school there was no real volleyball team, so he basically practiced by himself or with anyone he could convince. So when he got into highschool he basically didn't know the proper basics, he sucked at everything, but he has brutal jumps and reflexes so he matched well with Kageyama whose serves were wast of and nobody wanted or could spike them. During the series he becomes a better spiker, but what's important about many of these clips is that he's finally making progress in defense

The parts where you were confused on what happened was when Hinata crashed a training camp that was only meant for students who were invited to be there because they were good. He begged that he’d be a ball boy or anything so that he could stay, but then he felt like he was wasting a bunch of his time (when he shoved his head between the white mats). Also, that’s why he was apologizing in one part was because he crashed that training camp without anyone knowing and they called the school and told them he was there so he got chewed out by the captain, the coach, and assistant coach. A lot of the things that surprised his teammates, made them cry, or go absolutely nuts with excitement were things that Hinata learned during the training camp that he crashed. He couldn’t play but he took the chance to read body language and understand what an opponent could do in different situations such as a bad toss or short approach to a spike and so on because the only thing he could do there was watch.

So to here's some general context for these scenes. So at first in the season Kageyama and Tsukki both got invited to training camps (Kageyama's was for the national team and Tsukki's was for the prefecture) and Hinata was jealous. So he snuck into the camp Tsukki was at and because he wasn't supposed to be there but beggged to stay he was made a ball boy. When he told coach Ukai (the blonde with spiky hair) he told Hinata don't underestimate being a ball boy. Catching all those balls really helped Hinata work on timing and positioning. That's why he was chesting and then got the one ball with his foot in that one game because his body was now able to react to those balls but he hadn't gotten the timing and positioning of his platform right. However as the season goes on you see he gets better at that. Also in that scene where Suga was about to cry, from what I remember Karasuno had been really picking up the pace in the game cause they felt very pressured and as a result their plays were not going well. Hinata having that nice receive with some nice hang time helped everyone slow down and kind of get it together.

The scene where the ball was up for a long time and everyone was surprised was because Hinata learned that in fast paced situations if you give the ball a lot of hangtime it gives your team time to breath and be able to make the right play.

at around 9:40 mark it was because they were playing at a faster pace and nobody was slowing down so he made sure the ball went high into the hair so his teammates can slow down/relax and take it easy in my opinion season 4 was the best especially seeing Hinata grow being a ball boy lol

So when he hit the ball and it went super high and the coach commented “ yah. let’s take it easy” was because the game was super fast paced and all of the people on the court were thinking “I have to be faster” “get to the net faster” and apparently when the game gets super fast paced and the ball doesn’t travel up much, it’s harder for players to react, relax and breathe, harder to move? (Idk I’m not a volleyball player but I did watch that episode) the coach tried to remind everyone to slow down but everyone was super in their own head trying to keep up with the pace. So hinata’s super high up got everyone to realize and breathe.
@chriswronkowski73572 жыл бұрын
The blockers didn't jump because they can't react to minus tempo being that by the time the setter is jumping to set hinata is already in the air ready to attack making kageyama have to set an extremely precise and fast pass to hinata

there're a lot of clips that don't have the same impact or are just confusing if you haven't seen the anime sadly. I'd totally recomend you to watch it if you have the time and the interest of it tho, it's a very good anime. Also the tempo thing is the way the anime explained the timing of the plays. Minus tempo specifically means that when the setter touches the ball to set, the spiker is already in the air and ready to hit the ball, making a super fast play.
@velvet_turtle79183 жыл бұрын
Damn, you need so much more context to fully enjoy what's happening throughout these clips and the season as a whole. Hinata has become better at reading the game, because of the training camp he snuck in to be a part of. But he was only allowed to act as a ball boy, so while he learned to read plays and trajectory to be a good ball boy, he didn't develop muscle memory and skills to receive said balls in a match situation, hence why he's chesting the balls and slow at closing his arms when the ball hits his foot. Haikyuu is amazing, and you should look forward to the next season because it's gonna get wild.

The context to the 2nd to the last scene (where they say "Let's take it easy" and Sugawara starts crying) is that in that moment Karasuno was caught up in Inarizaki's pace, and the coach desperately wanted them to slow down and take their time before they sped up too much and made a mistake. Hinata's receive was perfect for this, as he received the ball well and sent it straight up, giving it some hang time for Karasuno to set up their synchro-attack and get in their own groove rather than being caught in Inarizaki's pace. @Erik Shoji

Erik! Congrats on 40K. I found you through your reaction videos to Haikyu!! and to get the reason why the last two clips are so amazing and worth it, you need to watch episode 24 from season 4, titled “Monster’s Ball”. @burns01003 жыл бұрын
Context, what context? Lol some of these moments just cut in at the weirdest moments. The moment when the ball was up in the air was a moment for example where the entire team was rushing and pushing the play rather then slowing down, thinking and working to their best. The receive and the ball floating in the air up higher then normal gave them time to reset.

In Haikyuu there are 4 tempos, 3 of which are possible in real life. 3rd tempo is where the spiker watches for the ball before he does the run-up. 2nd tempo is where you do your approach when the ball is in the setter hands. 1st tempo is where basically a quick attack. Minus tempo is where you are at the peak of the spike and the ball comes to your hands perfectly.

The part where they were about to cry has clips that were cut too much,that it does not make sense.. It is a long rally with fast plays going on , and as a trade off you will be exhausted.. They were about to cry because Hinata was able to feel his teammates were strugling and can't think wisely.. So he receives the ball high to give his teammates some time to catch their breath and relax. I play doubles badminton,so I can relate on this , it is such a fast paced exhausting sports,so I am really at ease when I have a partner who knows when to strategically do a clear shot when he sees I struggle and needs to catch my breath for the next move.
@hananabanana79553 жыл бұрын
really? i like the struggle... i don't play professional but i do prefer singles. it can get exhausting if you go too fast too long, i know, but that struggle and that speeding up the pace help me cause it helps me forget about what i look like or if others are watching, it helps me focus only on the game. especially when it is singles as it all rides on me, with no backup, and failing when you're alone is awful in its own right, cause it's hard accepting everything is your fault (helps me ease thinking badly about my mistakes so i can think how to improve afterwards). if that makes sense

Watching scene compilations with having seen the seasons are fine, but this particular compilation particularly bad for those without the context to understand it. There are, or someone could make compilation videos that show just a bit more context. Like the frantic chaos karasuno was putting themselves under when hinata passed that high ball to give everyone a breather. It also doesn't help that this compilation bounces scenes from early to late to early parts of the series which can make it even more confusing

@hariseldon66683 жыл бұрын
In the US we just call it a quick. We use numbers to designate the type of attack and where the set is going. A quick to the outside hitter is called a 'shoot' or 4 depending on how high the arc of the set is. A quick to the middle blocker is called a 1 if it is in front of the setter, or a 'back 1' if it's behind the setter. A quick to the back row is called a bick (back row quick). The opposite hitter generally doesn't get quick sets, but the setter could do what's called a 'slide' which is a backset quick to area 2, generally to the middle blocker who drifts across the net to that area from area 3.

@@beasteaglegamerpocketversi2003 I'm having trouble translating what you're saying into practical volleyball speech. Actual players like Erik and I don't understand that lingo. SPOILER ALERT!!!! A lot of these scenes make no sense out of context. For example, when Hinata says 'got it' it's because they were all rushing to get the last point and they were going faster and faster and losing control of the game. Hinata had the ability to see what was happening and slow down the game by receiving the ball and giving everybody half a second to breath, by making the ball go high. Hinata, who had no technique whatsoever for most of the series, saved the game by being smart. That's why everybody was shocked and emotional, because of his growth.

He was so confused on that emotional high pass lmao... The players were rushing and playing off of instinct cause they were close to winning and were frustraed, so Hinata cooled everyone's head to be able to think by passing it high. It's a type of play you wouldn't expect from an instinctual guy like Hinata but that's what makes it emotional. I hope that explains it

You asked what is minus tempo. Its when the spiker is already in air before the setter sets the ball. Like at 8:50 you said he is in air too early. That was a minus tempo attack. If I remember correctly Kageyama and Hinata have gone till -2 tempo. The take it easy part is for the set and match point against Inarizaki High in Nationals round 2. The point rally was going on for too long. Everyone on Karasuno, in the heat of the moment, going after the ball to keep up the pressure. The Karasuno coach says to take it slow to get a breather and think about the attack to make it successful. So in that receive Shoyo sent it high in the air to calm everyone's nerves and give that fraction of a time before the attack. Sugawara was emotional seeing Hinata doing that and wanted to cry. He saw the growth and maturity Hinata showed in just the span of few months.
