True.same here. I know that the organizers are "trying" to say that this is a humorous look at the absurdity of religion and being tolerant. But THIS was the very OPPOSITE of anything that showed "tolerance". It showed a disgust and hatred for people of faith and of God Himself. They didn't even CONSIDER what this looked like? The tableau in the ceremony is not a reference to Leonardo Da Vinci's Last Supper but to Jan Harkens van Bijlert's The Feast of the Gods (1635), with Apollo crowned at the center of the table, not Jesus Christ, and Dionysus the "god of wine and pleasure" in the foreground. ...And Why this reference? Because Apollo and Dionysus are Greek gods, and the Olympics are a Greek invention, a tribute to Zeus. Furthermore, Jesus is just as fake as the Greek "gods", so, DEAL WITH IT!!!

I am not Roman Catholic or Jewish, but I am a practicing Christian and am highly offended by this opening ceremony. It was diabolical! My husband and I went to see the painting of the Last Supper in Milan. We were so soul moved we wept. Now we weep with a combination sorry and anger. We have visited France twice, but now if I was given a fully paid holiday to France I would not go.
