I agree but the rules were changed and apparently no one was actually told prior to those events and u could tell other athletes were caught by surprise as well. Hands down that was the dream team of gymnastics so they have made history twice now back to back Gabby done it in 2012 and they done it again in 2016 so we all should be jumping up and down that those 5 women rocked the Olympics lol

I love all of these girls and I'm happy for them. This is a special time in their lives. I do agree with you. The interviewer is the one to ensure that all comes off well so that the public is not stirred to think something negative (that might not be the case at all, but that has such an appearance) Reporters and interviewers today have a lot to learn. They need to conscientiously seek to bring out good in their audience by the things they say and how they say them.

I really hope it's not because she feels like she failed herself by not coming back and winning the gold again. She is an amazing athlete, and I hope she remembers that she was what, 16 when she won gold in 2012. THAT'S AMAZING. And to be able to come back and be on the team again, and to not feel pressured to do skills her body isn't comfortable doing, well, that's just a healthy mind set. Gabby, I hope you read this, because I want to reassure you that you are an amazing athlete (I know that probably doesn't mean a lot coming from some silly stranger), and that it is ok to be bummed that you didn't win gold again, but that you are still amazing, and no one can take away what you achieved in 2012. Keep fighting for what you love, and just try and make yourself happy :D

hey if u noticed Gabby was somewhat screwed over because they changed the rules at the last minute it was always 3 from each country until the U.S. dominated so hard that it was only the top 2 from each country to advance and some people will argue this point but if you paid attention it was Gabby that got cut because of the rule changing so u have to understand that who ever made the choice did it to keep those USA girls from really dominating the entire gymnastics events had Gabby went on to the finals I believe THOSE GIRLS would have finished 123 easily. u can tell that something went down because at one point those ladies were celebrating and then they were told only 2 could move one so that put Gabby out of competition

Dominique has competed and Medaled in 3 olympics herself... which is better results than Oksana has in her 7 olympic games. Yes, Oksana got the team gold in 92 and a silver in vault 8 years ago already. She did not do better in the vault finals in London than she did here.... though what she tried in Rio was a more difficult vault) and, the standard has gotten much higher than Oksana can compete. Complain about Dominique if you want, but the BBC commentator Christiane Steel told Oksana to stop after London. Dominique is being gracious.
