This kind of loss is extremely heart breaking for the French women's team because you can look back and say a missed free throw, a bad pass, a missed layup, could've sealed the deal for gold or potential gold medal. And in the end......the biggest upset of all ended up just a few inches short of what could've been gold for France. Yes, definitely disappointing for the French team in front of their home crowd. I feel for them, but I'm for team USA in the end.

Even if it was a three-pointer, USA was still in the lead, so the game would've only moved into overtime, but France was always playing from behind.

@@got2bjoshlike when they collapsed 10 points lead in middle of third quarter? US won on grace of massively luck AJ shot on the board + Johannes bashed under rim by same AJ who slapped his head without any foul + not reviewing the out of bounds US ball in last 2 minutes. Not even checked. It's hard to play toe to toe at one bucket when officials always give inch at overall favourite team.

As an American I applaud France and have great sympathy for Gabby Williams. USA/Reeves are not as dominant as America thought-- this was lost by half a foot. More cheers here for the French team - they played their hearts out.
@radugeorgeoprea19492 ай бұрын
I have rewatched this final 3 more times, in my youth I practiced this sport, and I see everything that happens, who deserves it and who pretends. At one point, France had 10 points in front of the Americans, who were physically defeated and by the performance of the French and the atmosphere of the public, which was superb, the game was restarted by Sabrina Ionescu with her passes... If Ionescu did not enter, France she was an Olympic champion! Honestly, the coach of the American women either doesn't see this or has something negative against Sabrina! Because he didn't play it at all in the first 2 quarters, in the third immediately after restoring the lead, he took it out of the game, and in the 4th part... with great emotions, America won!!! The coach of the American women doesn't deserve to be on the bench, what was she doing in the final... From the sideline, you can see her better, there were about 2 players who only made the presence of the game without the ball, sometimes they floated in their minds, the coach sees that . He kept them on the field just because they are stars in the wbna, but they didn't deserve to play in the final, the 2 players were more extras, and it was as if they were sleeping on the field! Maybe it was the public's fault, but in Europe that's how the public is at basketball! At the top of the bench there were still a few who can play under pressure much better and rubbed the bench. Honestly, when you as a coach see that a player enters the field and out of chaos and disaster restores your balance and even leads you to an advantage, you have to give more trust to those players who actually managed to do that. As long as Sabrina played, she was above all her colleagues as a game leader, and even above the opponents. Moreover, he imposed speed in the game and efficiency! Congratulations to both teams, each of those who played played their chance superbly, apart from a few aerials by the Americans. Congratulations on the win to those who wanted that win!

I don't see many people congratulating France for having resisted the USA undefeated for 8 Olympics. Even though it was at home, I remind you that in Tokyo, France was in the final for men in basketball and 3rd for womens. (Both in the finals in London 2012) France in volleyball, for men won in Tokyo and Paris. France in handball won for men and women in Tokyo, final for women in Paris. (the men have won 3 times and one final in the last 5 Olympics). France in football remains on 2 World Cup finals, a semi-final at the Euro and a final of the Olympics. France in Judo won as a team in Tokyo and Paris. France in rugby 7s won in Paris. France in basketball x3 lost by 1 point in the final in Paris. France is not the best sporting nation we all agree but it is the best nation in the world in team sports.

The truth yesss wnba is kinda soft she would have been pushed and people say she was ready
@jjcoolboyify2 ай бұрын
Well, so far she’s kicked all the Olympian’s asses & they nearly lost. Also, Angel would’ve had 40 rebounds with the way this game played out. Clark & Reese would’ve ate this game up

With france defence they are on another level gabby wouldn't all low AR to get any offensive rebound the wnba always watch while she's trying to rebound how can one miss 3 rebounds consecutively make the 4th and the opponent dont catch the ball @jjcoolboyify
