This was terrible tv work. The commentators clearly only had access to the same video feed that was being shown on TV. So they assumed Hayden Wilde had it all sewn up and only realised Yee was catching him when the cameras cut away from the French pair when Yee was coming in to the second to last turn. Total respect to Wilde and Yee for their Herculean efforts. And double respect to Wilde for his awesome character after the race.

No respect needed for Wilde. Yee who had been following through the bike course AND with up to 17sec "run" gap, did a "Yeep, Yeep(Beep,Beep)" & pulled out and passed Wilde." IN the LAST 2 KM of the run? That was unreal., and yet it happened. My legs would have given out on me by then AND there were no commercial breaks within that period of time.? So, he got his second wind? Holy moly. The guys job was that he was a Landscape Gardener. (definitely not trained for doing "Tri-athlete stuff")

If you have ever tried to do each sport of triathlon you'll know how fast they are swimming, cycling and running 🤯
@jeromed25 ай бұрын
Swimming is all about technique. All*...I've seen many go super fast with their arm strides swimming slower than some going what appeared to be slow moving strides...Let say to swim at 15:00/k without forcing is a great start! And that's really the minimum. The most important thing is not to learn to swim by yourself, but rather to take intensive lessons before starting. Overall it's all about genetic and whether or not you started aerobic sports early in your youth...I tried many many years to run (on fresh legs) at a 4:00/k pace for a half marathon, but never been able...Best I did is 1h28, so I said adios on my hopes of becoming pro...The average pro 70.3 triathletes, they run it on relatively tired legs in just 1h11 to 1h15 and the best women 1h21 to 1h26...CRAZY!!
