Highlights of the Women's 100m Round 1 during the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Since 1896, athletics has been on the programme of each edition of the Games of the Olympiad. Its presence on the Games programme has allowed its popularity to increase across the world. This popularity was also strengthened by the creation of the IAAF in 1912. Women's events appeared for the first time at the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam, while the men's programme was standardised as of the 1932 Games in Los Angeles. Although at the beginning women were authorised to participate in only some events, today their programme is almost identical to that of the men.

Jeter says her coach is always on her case about looking at her time BEFORE she crosses the line. She famously did it on the world record relay run, she does it here also.

+Daniel Maretic C'mon I really love Jeter who is world class but to go far as to say she would win against a prime Shelly is a little too much, no one has dominated women's 100 meters sprinting as much as Shelly has done and she's not even tall like Usian Bolt. I don't have anything but respect for that little lady.

If Felix could just get her start together, she could be a top contender in the 100. Her top end speed is fantastic, but she gets left in the block every time.
@TheDarThaum
@TheDarThaum 9 жыл бұрын
The reason for that is because Felix is a 200m sprinter, not 100. I know starting on the curve doesn't sound like much of a change but the curve is where Allison excels for sprinting. That's why in the 4x1 when they beat the wr, she was the third leg. Why? Cuz the 200 is her race, not the 100.
@ranhill
@ranhill 9 жыл бұрын
TheDarThaum Uh... Felix has been the 2nd leg runner forever. Why? because it is the longest leg, and usually a 200 specialist runs that leg precisely because of that. Felix IS a 100 runner also, 5th in the Olympic final is no joke, neither is 10.89, but she does by far her best work in the 200.
@ranhill
@ranhill 9 жыл бұрын
TheDarThaum her two biggest problems are her reaction time, and coming out of her drive phase too soon.

Check out her 4x100 relay legs. With a running start she dusts everybody. But out of the blocks, it takes a while for those long legs to get going. And she did place 5th in the 2012 Olympic final with a 10.89

I've always wondered the same question. No offence here and I could be strongly wrong here. Ive often suspected that some coach have informed their athlete (who may be doping) to not run faster otherwise it starts to look suspect. But I could be wrong here. I just find it genuinely strange that "some athlete" peak on the Olympic. But I concede that I could be wrong here.
