That offside call against Japan is absolutely ridiculous. I'm beginning to agree with Sweden's decision to do away with the VAR and the discussion on scrapping the system in Norway. Human error is acceptable and natural, but these VAR decisions are rather idiotic.

I agree to an extent, mabey you can have at least 3-5cm offside. Their needs to be some lenience.

These are 2 excellent teams. Huge respect to Japan - they have come so far in football. Their development system is so superior to ours (Australia). Much love to Japan from an Aussie.

That offside is so unlucky. Japan player's whole body is in front of the defender but a trailing leg is offside

No chance. He’s a solid keeper. The pace on those shots coupled with the crowd in front of him made it quite difficult to save. He’s one of the best youth keepers Japan has produced in recent times.
