Just got one of those and the automatic mode really is not that bad but it really does not like to be used indoors haha. I've took some shots outdoors, with daylight, and it worked pretty well. Im still going to take the film to print the photos so I have no idea how they will look. Im new to analogs and i'm probably messing something up by using 50 ISO film with this camera buuut I think I can learn from this. Good video!

Fantastic, I wish you luck with it. It's not really meant to be used indoors on automatic mode, but that's why you have the flash option. :-) Using 50 ISO film is perfectly fine. This camera can range from 25 - 400. Happy Shooting.

What I found out (after trial and error) is that when I push the shutter a bit slower the red indicator works more consistant, so I always push the shutter gentle and slow. If I push it fast and instant then it will have the same problem of random working/not working. So maybe that will work with yours too? Hope it helps.

Thanks for this. Really appreciate it. If I have any luck, I’ll get back to you. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Thanks for posting another one of your thrilling videos!! I have a question: What is that small round silver button at the bottom left of the lens? I think that red flag marker could be a warning. I had a camcorder that would display a red light inside the view finder if there wasn't enough light.

The "button" is a flash socket for corded flashes, I believe //I'm sorry for the '3rd party' answer :')

@@alexn6950 it’s either a flash port as mentioned above or a shutter release socket. The red flag is effectively telling me there is not enough light to expose the picture.

I found this rather late, so the answer could be of no use what so ever. However, The 'small button' as it appears is in fact a PC socket (Prontor-Compur) correctly identified by Alex, and is used to synchronise the flash firing with the shutter opening speed. Modern cameras have a 'Hot shoe' which have the terminals integrated. The beauty of a PC socket means you can use professional on or off camera lighting strobes even with a simple camera such as this.

The photos seem well exposed, even a bit overexposed to my taste. So the selenium meter is definitely alive. Am I understood correctly, the red flag does not appear every time when the camera blocks shutter release button?

Thanks for your comment. Yes, so, when I pop the camera into automatic mode, it sometimes allows me to fire my shot off, other times, it stops me from doing so and that is when the red flag marker pops up. I can be standing outside on a well lit day, on the same spot, but it seems to have a mind of its own. Otherwise, it works perfectly well in flash mode

@@ReelFilm2016 Hmm.. I got the situation. I haven't the camera, yet I have some experience with selenium meters: probably the one in your camera is partially exhausted, so it leads to such behaviour(?) ...I'm just guessing, and it's not much of a help. Probably someone experienced with the camera will appear in the thread. PS the photos lead to sudden smiles. I generally find people shots most impressive. And the football fans are tough guys, as we may see! :)
