Love the audio on these. Been going through OM recently, and discovered the live recordings even more recently. Feels like a Grateful Dead 2.0 but more metal the way each live show is special.

I am familiar with playing drums, so therefor this comment is based on a different point of view. Both (Hakius and Amos) are great drummers. I have to admit that the transcendental way of playing is more Hakius thing (which I also like more). Nevertheless, Amos has his moments. On Advaitic Songs, some fills and beats are actually really amazing and inspiring. Hakius leaving is a loss but Lowe makes it easier. But yet Roeder compared to Amos... I don't know... The Universe must have a plan.

I think without Amos, OM would still be doing EXACTLY the same thing they were doing on the 1st album. Amos definitely added multiple layers of composition on Advaitic Songs, those string arrangements were definitely his and he has pushed Al to progress beyond that one bass riff he's been riding ad nauseam since Sleep. Robert Lowe has also brought a lot to the table. Hakius was good, but Amos bring so much more.

Lowe is gone now. It's not the same with the new guy...
