I just removed the swirl motor without pulling the turbo. The wire cover came out after removing the bracket going over it. I then pulled out the fuel filter, disconnected the actuator clips and the sucker came right out. The beauty of the swirl motor is that you don't need it, so once out, I secured the control arms in the open position with clamshell paper clips and wire and put her back together. deleting the EGR with a catch can. I now have better performance and fuel mileage.

Yeah I’m certain you can take it out without removing the turbo but generally you can’t move The swirl flaps because they are seized up. And I’m a little bit surprised that works I didn’t mention the check engine light which would certainly put the vehicle in the limp mode so I’m guessing that you must’ve plugged the motor back in. Even though in theory it sounds like it may work good thinking on the clip

Or you could just instal a 4.7k resistor between the two inner pins on the connector of the motor, because when not working, the spring on the motor holds it in open position and the resistor simulates to the ECU like it was connected.

@@sharpcarco If the problem isn't broken or stuck linkage, you can remove the swirl motor and put it in your sock drawer, tie off the linkages in the open position, [you can use some wire to secure the right side linkage to one of the swirl motor mounting bolt holes, and on the left side place a clamshell-type of paperclip on the linkage to prevent closure]. BTW installing a catch can, or even a dump hose will prevent the gumming and sooting up of your intakes in the first place. Besides, whoever thought injecting used oil into the intake should have been shot (figuratively).

The tin coke can cover on the actuator doe snot really make sense. The actuator is water tight enxept for a small breathing port inside the wire connetor. In my experience if oil leaks from turbo inlet it leaks directly on the wire conenctor of the actuator. Oil seeps through the connector into the breating port. The electric motor inside the actuator is then submerged in oil and the blows the fuse due to viscosity of the oil. I am of the opinion that if you drill a hole at an angle in the bottom metal flange of the actuator and let the oil drain, you can save the actuator with out removing it. Then seal the hole with epoxy. Only remove the fuel filter to drill the hole.

I have code P2013, intake runner controller high bank 2. Car drives fine, check engine light on. Does it mean the actuator is broken for one of the intakes? Thank yiu

More than likely, it means that the intakes are probably seized

@@sharpcarco that’s gonna be one hell of a job. I’ll replace the oil cooler and seals, flap motor and actuators( there’s a kit with aluminum actuators). I barely have 114k miles on the car. Thank you for the response

@marcelcovaci9922 yeah but they don’t have that many oil cooler leaks generally when you replace them and you replace the red gaskets with the half millimeter, larger, purple gaskets and you never have a leak again unless you don’t take care of your PCV correctly What I’m talking about is sticking Intakes … that is very common, but I have a solution that makes it never happen again . Anyways, it’s up to you.

I’m not sure and I can’t remember for certain but isn’t this the video that I show you exactly how to get the arms out of there without breaking them…. Or are you the type of person that skips through them types of important stuff because you think I’m just gonna run my mouth which I do quite frequently (but not during the process) I’m not trying to pour salt on your wounds but now You need new intake you probably needed them before anyways. At the very least I’m certain they needed to be clean a lot of people mistakenly think because they got a code for the swirl flaps they need a new motor and often these motors do not fail…… However if you would like to send them to me I would be happy to fix them for you , of course it’s not free. I doubt you’ll take me up on that I’m assuming you probably figured that I’ve been enough help at this point and I wouldn’t blame you at all greatly apologize that that happened to you.

I thought you might of none the job before, any way i am going to press that arm in and hope the hell everything works well. if not i well get a new one or go to junkyard...thanks for your time you do good work. Well it’s funny that you say that because I gotta assume….. You think I’m wearing that because of Covid ……. technically you’re correct But it’s because (and this is a true story) The dog ate my false teeth….. during Covid but during Covid I couldn’t go to the dentist to get them replaced so I wore the mask over my face…. And all you have to do to verify my story is watch one of my recent videos I constantly talk at them and show my face….. it’s fairly easy to tell that I don’t have any teeth and that’s because now after Covid and inflation I can’t afford them……. For obvious reasons I run a KZbin channel that makes 2/10 of a cent per view…… so I have a little bit of pity on this old soul …. And at least give me a laughs emoji possibly even consider subscribing or clicking the join button which all of the money goes straight to me then maybe I can buy some teeth…… True story check it out you’ll love being here this is a great channel …. Well I guess technically it was because of Covid…… during Covid my dog ate my false teeth…… well in the wonderful state of Michigan there were no dentist so I couldn’t get my false teeth replaced. so I was embarrassed so I wore the mask because it’s embarrassing. Also because business was good before Covid and free money pouring into everybody everywhere, (except me because I’m self-employed of course) I could afford to get my false teeth replaced…… then Covid killed business and now that the dentist are available I cannot afford to get my teeth replaced…… No huge amounts of Covid Welfare money for me.
