In this film about The Sultanate of Oman (touristic) highlights are shown in some detail starting in Muscat / Mutrah at the coast (the capital area) and from there approximately up to 250 kilometres into the interior. Here you find the mountain ranges Hajar Ash Sharki (Eastern Stone Mountains) and Jabal Al Akhdar (Green Mountains). Immediately beyond these places lies the great Arabic desert plateau. In this area you find a mix of modern life, modernization in progress and the last bits of the old traditional Arabic way of life.

It seems to be more faithful and realistic video to understand the livelihood of Oman. Apart from natural beauty of Oman, people of Oman also show a kind side of hospitality more or less. If you are a foody person who love to taste various local or traditional food items where ever you go then you should must visit here at least once in your life. Most of food-items are so delicious than you can not resist yourself from testing. Not only that the Omani people are well known for their hospitality and offers of refreshment. To be invited into someone's home will mean coffee (kahwa), a strong, bitter drink flavored with cardamom, and dates or halwa, a sticky sweet gelatinous substance which is made from brown sugar, eggs, honey and spices. It can be flavored with many different ingredients, such as nuts, rosewater or even chocolate. Lokhemat is another accompaniment to coffee, which are balls of flour and yeast flavored with cardamom and deep fried until golden then served with a sweet lime and cardamom syrup. The sweetness of this dish often counteracts the bitterness of the kahwa. Although spices, herbs, onion, garlic and lime are liberally used in traditional Omani cuisine, unlike similar Asian food, it is not hot. It is fairly simple, but by using various marinades and impregnating meat with spices, the result is a mouth-watering concoction which stimulates the taste-buds. Chicken, fish and mutton are regularly used in dishes. A favorite drink is Laban, a salty buttermilk. Yoghurt drinks, flavored with cardamom and pistachio nuts are also very popular. To know more such other local cuisines of Oman, you must go to alnahdaresort.com/local-cuisine.

It's in my film (search in KZbin) "Film 008 1981 & 2000 Birkat al Mawz Misfah Al Hamra Bahla" (1981) as from time point 8:27.

The only political documentary film about Oman vimeo.com/261589513 kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y4vCgo2Di52LnZo The investigative documentary film addresses the social and human rights struggle after the crackdown on demonstrators during the 2011 protests in the Sultanate of Oman. Oman, which was described by The Economist as the world’s most charming police state seems to have many hidden political secrets. The film follows Oman’s first internet blogger, poet, writer and human rights activist Muawiyah Alrawahi, and poet and activist Habiba Alhanai. Alrawahi disappeared on the 24th of February 2015 during a trip to the neighboring country United Arab Emirates (UAE). His disappearance was politically motivated and was most likely a joined effort between the UAE and the Omani intelligence services. He was detained for about 16 months at the notorious Al Wathba prison in Abu Dhabi. He was subjected to torture and ill-treatment and was placed with pirates, terrorist suspects, and criminals. His crime was his internet blogging, human rights activities, and defending other Omani activists. Al-Rawahi's testimony addresses the political situation in Oman prior to his kidnapping by the UAE. The film was shot two weeks after Muawiyah Alrawahi was released from prison in the United Arab Emirates. Three months after the shooting of the film, Muawiyah Alrawahi was again targeted by the Omani intelligence service - fearing for his life he fled to the UK and is now a political refugee living underground. This documentary is a film of two parts. The second part is based on interviews with author Abdullah Habib, Said AlHashimi, Mohamed AlYahyai, and political refugees in Europe like Mohamed AlFazari, Nabhan AlHanshi, Mohamed AlHarithy and Khalfan AlBadwawi.
