I was posted in Kashmir understand her and her people. A great region of India with its own ethnicity, language, culture, values, etc. and these determined people will surely retain this. Kashmiris like us Jat-Sikhs rarely marry outside. The few who have are pseudo-westernized or have family problems. The Sheikh was a pure-genuine Kashmiri and had a lineage from Raghu Ram Kaul who converted to Semitic-Islam. After him Farooq and his progeny can not be genuinely referred to as Kashmiris. These kids except for their Aryan Kashmiri noses look more like Khatris; a shrewd and nice merchant caste of the Punjab.
