@stevemcqueen19167 жыл бұрын
OmarIsuf calves are genetic, ive been going to commercial gyms for 25 years and God as my witness ive never seen ONE guy with monster calves even train them, i cant even count the guys ive seen training calves brutally hard with calves hardly big enough to hold their socks up, theres a guy in my gym who literally uses 6 plates on seated calf raises and his lower legs look like he has a muscle eating disease in them, he literally looks like he was born without calf muscles and he does full reps with no bouncing, its the craziest thing ive ever seen, then we have a girl trainer whos calves are enormous and detailed and I asked her once what she did for them and she said shes never done one specific exercise for them

Guys, this whole "he uses steroid so why would I listen to him" broken record whining will get you no where. He offers great advice, he is a true veteran in lifting, and a strength coach/gym owner. He knows a bit about training people. Stop being so ignorant as to think no advice will be applicable to you just because you took the "high road" and went natty.
@NKproductions10007 жыл бұрын
BluFF I put " " around high road because the position so many of these people take is that anyone who use steroids in order to be competitive are liars and cheaters. Even in a sport where steroids are almost mandatory. My use of quotations mocks this idea some have that steroids are immoral. Which is quite funny really. As for me, I haven't taken any PEDs.
@PermanentHigh7 жыл бұрын
NKP If all that stuff was true Omar would be jacked out of his mind right now.
@NKproductions10007 жыл бұрын
PermanentHigh If all of Brian's lifting advice was true? Lol of course Brian is gonna have more gains due to he probable use of peds and the fact that he has been lifting for 13 years longer. Thats not the point of my comment though, his advice is probably effective. Of course it wont result in massive arms and all that for everyone or in half the time.

Been doing farmer's walks as a finisher for at least a year (a little over bodyweight total) and it's had a noticeable impact on my traps and forearms. I'm guessing it's a major calorie burner too. I see so many guys in my gym shrugging with a pair of 45 pound plates, shrugging in the smith machine, shrugging with dumbbells...but almost no one in the rack pulling weights as heavy as he can go.

Been training my calves faithfully for 30 years. What made them grow was running steep hills (with cletes) and running with a weighted sled on grass in addition to heavy calf work. Wearing a weighted vest or carrying light dumbbells helped. My squat also went up.

Larris Liew Alex doesn't have SHIT on Brian. Alex is one of the most unathletic lifters I've ever seen. He's uncoordinated as hell and some of his forms are cringy bad. On top of that, it always seems like Alex is either defending himself or his routine and/or bashing other routines or exercises. He comes off arrogant and dogmatic. Don't get me wrong, Alex knows what he's talking about, but the dude's attitude makes him hard for me to listen to.
@perman077 жыл бұрын
atrizzleness - Agreed, he's like a youtube commenter tired of winning text debates and deciding to do it in video format instead. Everything seems like some internet debate war with him like he's trying to score points or something.

@kylejudkins7546 жыл бұрын
Ketone Conde yeah I mean it's actually insane how quickly people throw ped around. It's not rocket science, look at his fucking training weights and volumes... if he was juicing there's no chance in he'll he wouldn't be 300+ lbs. strongman is the most ridiculous when it comes to peds and full body musculature... WSM competitors are 400+ lbs even when the don't have a huge gut.

Also an idea for Mr DIY who's handy... farmer walk heavy weight idea. Make rebar into handle shapes. Make wooden mold from 2x10 or 2x12 big enough to hold the minimum weight made of poured concrete you can carry in each hand. Make your rebar ends point out of the front and back of the molds so you can add plates or more concrete weight. 80lb bag of concrete is like $10? Bending the rebar is going to require heat. If you have the vision and bring the bar to just about any mechanic shop and explain what you want they can bend it for you. I'd use 1/2 inch to 3/4 plus wood around that for some sort of creature comfort. But at the end of the day it's a cheap dirty way to make two 150+# dumbbells and if you're clever about your wooden mold form it can be shaped to be curved around where your legs will hit them.
