We all know deep in our hearts that the overhead press is infinitely cooler than the bench press and overhead pressing should be part of powerlifting
@09thespecialone7 ай бұрын
It’s already a part of weightlifting (Olympic lifting). It’s just not a contested lift anymore. The Press, the clean and press, was abolished in 1972 by the IWF.
@StrongButAwkward7 ай бұрын
@@09thespecialone Your last sentence contradicts your first sentence and the middle sentence is nonsensical; if something isn't a part of the sport's contest, it's not part of the sport. You mean it *was* part of Oly Weightlifting. That's true, but it's not any more, and what lifts *used* to be in a different sport don't have any bearing on what can or can't be in another sport. Come to think of it, neither does what lifts are *currently* in another sport; otherwise PL and Strongman would have to fight over who gets to have the dealift in their sport and whoever won that fight would be the only sport that gets to have it. "Strength Lifting" already just swaps out the bench for the OHP entirely. TBF that's a real niche sport for people that like Starting Strength and Mark Riptoe a bit *too* much, but it doesn't really have any bearing on whether or not PL could decided to make itself a 4-contested lift sport that had competitions that went O/S/B/D.

Finally someone makes Dr. Mike do actual acted art. This is where he belongs, in big productions. Beautiful film noir. I love watching weightlifters. It's like watching a super hero, you didn't know the bar can move that fast, even without being loaded. And they make it look fast-forwarded twice the bodyweight. Like Just watching Gabriel Sincraian snatch or c&j is crazy. Like a greased lightning bolt.
